Moon Intelligence are looking for a research analyst with huge passion for MLS football to join our team.
We are looking for an analyst with exceptional knowledge of MLS teams, players, tactics and league specific intricacies.
About the USA MLS Research Analyst role
The role involves:
Producing previews for all matches in the Major League Soccer to our set template. Previews are to be published by 10 AM (UK time) on the day of the game. The analyst is expected to research and provide information such expected line-ups, key player information and team approaches. If key information comes out after the previews are published, the analyst is expected to provide updates.
Confirming line-ups. Once the starting 11s are announced for all matches, the analyst is expected to confirm any changes from their predicted 11s and if they expect anything different from their previews
Providing xG in-play data. During the games, the analyst is expected to watch and collect xG data for the first half of MLS games (max 2 games at a time). Training will be provided
Working weekends and evenings is essential due to the nature of the MLS fixture calendar
The role can be home based
The role will be as a consultant with payment made monthly (around £3,000) when the MLS is fully active. (Pro-rota when the league is not fully active)
We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. The information collected and provided is crucial to our clients so needs to be to a very high standard.
We want someone who is extremely knowledgeable about MLS and US soccer/football from knowing how Nashville SC approach games to knowing the usual starting 11 from Inter Miami CF.
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent communication skills and be fluent in English
Previous experience covering MLS (highly desirable, but not essential)
High motivation and enthusiasm to watch games and continue to improve knowledge of US soccer/football
Exceptional attention to detail
Knowledge of xG (Expected Goals)
