ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Scottish FA is looking for a Referee Appointment Officer on a full time, permanent basis.
The job holder will administer the appointment of match officials for competitions in Tier 5 and below and to contribute to the effective functioning of the Referee Operations department.

Core hours will be Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. There may be instances where a Saturday or Sunday shift 8am – 2pm may need to be covered.

Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as an ability to work to strict timescales and deadlines. Must be computer literate with a competent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as being flexible and adaptable whilst working under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
Administer referee appointments, ensuring all appointments are aligned with the development plan for the referees.
To occasionally be the main point of contact on a rota basis for issues arising at the weekend, covering call offs across professional and non-professional game and arranging pitch inspections for Scottish FA and SPFL competitions.
Prepare accurate minutes for relevant meetings
Undertake any project work within the Scottish FA
Liaise with the Referees’ Association Managers and Secretaries as appropriate on refereeing matters
Provide administrative support to the department as appropriate.
Update Football Admin System ensuring all referee appointments are recorded timeously and accurately
Process expense claim forms for Referees, Referee Observers and Referees’ Association in a timeous and accurate manner.
Respond to and administer all matters related to the day-to-day administration of the Registration Scheme for Referees, including the maintenance of the Referee Extranet in a timeously and accurate manner.
To manage the ordering and distribution of referee kit each year, working closely with the kit supplier
To administer the raising of PO’s in relation to referee kit within budget
Act as a point of contact for Referees out with normal working hours as appropriate.
To carry out any other such reasonable duties that may arise from time to time as requested by the Administration Manager and/or the Assistant Administration Manager.
