Role description
We are looking for the right candidate to join our Facilities Team, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring the condition of the club sites is checked regularly and with statutory compliance. Key Accountabilities
To prioritise and manage all work orders and the allocation of maintenance tasks to ensure these are closed off in a timely manner.
To participate in a call-out rota as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Identify where specialist input is required and co-ordinate the timely attendance of alternative suppliers/contractors in consultation with the Facilities Manager.
To manage the sign in and attendance of contractors and that permits for working are in place including utility companies who need to access the site to read the meters.
To carry out semi-skilled maintenance including on the spot repairs, adjusting and replacing ball-cocks, sorting air locks, replacing tap washers, unblocking drains, resetting trip switches, adjusting door closures, repairing or replacing locks/barrels and ironmongery, signage repairs/replacement, lightbulbs changes and minor redecoration.
To undertake a porterage role including, but not limited to, the lifting of white goods.
To assist in carrying out L8 Legionella monitoring & recording duties. To assist in maintaining the Hydrotherapy Pools, to help with the chemical dosage and water quality, a valid Pool Plant Operator Certificate will be an advantage. Attendance at a training course will be given to the selected candidate if a certificate is not held.
Undertake routine fire alarm and emergency light testing, PAT testing, shower chlorination, water temperature tests and any visual checks.
Ensure that Incident and Accident reporting takes place and that escalation both internally and externally in accordance with the Reading Football Club H&S policy.
Be an ambassador for excellent energy housekeeping, ensuring that unnecessary energy isn’t spent (lights, switches & appliances etc.), promote this ethos to colleagues and support recycling segregation by colleagues.
Operation and understanding of the security and H&S equipment installed on the premises including CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and fire alarms.
To assist with gate duties, including parking management and the escorting of visitors.
There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks.
