Role description

MLS is looking for a passionate, organized Project Manager to join the newly formed Project Management Office. The Project Manager will drive project teams, deliverables, and schedules for the creation and execution of site updates, applications, and new technology initiatives. The Project Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a collaborative work environment, interacting with the team throughout all project phases, creating/monitoring detailed project plans, and associated project deliverables.

The Project Manager will have experience in defining, planning, scheduling, and communicating project activities. They must be able to apply creative and strategic thinking and project management skills to satisfy project requirements. They should also be able to proactively identify and manage risk. Problem solving and the ability to adapt current processes to meet project goals and requirements are essential elements of this position.

Accountable for the execution, management, and quality of several concurrent projects, ensuring all project goals and requirements are met.
Proactively communicates with project owners about technology recommendations, risks, challenges, and solutions.
Drives collaboration and execution across groups
Employs a proactive approach toward project management, identifying needs that stakeholders may not recognize, ensuring that approaches and solutions are linked to goals, technology recommendations and guidelines, and future needs.
Serves as a main interface on projects, clarifying strategic requirements, explains complex ideas clearly, manages expectations and leads status meetings with the team
Create project charter, phases, tasks, assignments, dependencies, and target dates are created and updated to ensure consistency with Project Management Office (PMO) best practices.
Identify and escalate any scheduling issues, including rush projects, missed deadlines, etc.
Bachelor’s degree
PMP certification desired
Scrum Master certification strongly preferred
5+ years of experience
Expertise in project management tools, such as Asana, Jira, Smartsheets, MS Project
Demonstrates initiative and innovation; identifies and supports ways to improve processes through technology or new ways of thinking
Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
Demonstrated decision making and solutions oriented
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Ability to lead and work collaboratively as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
