Role description

We are advertising for a Programme Lead (Health and Wellbeing). This role will oversee the entirety of our health and wellbeing programme area, with a blend of people and project management and strategic growth being key aspects of the role. The individual will work with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders within health across the Town to ensure that the Charity’s health and wellbeing offer responds to the changing needs of individuals, communities, localities and marginalised groups in line with local, regional and national strategies.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background and knowledge within the health sector. Experience within football charity work isn’t essential, but we are looking for someone who has the passion and understanding on how the power of football and the Bolton Wanderers brand can be utilised to reach communities to aid with tackling health inequalities and social exclusion.


Main duties and responsibilities:

· To successfully deliver, develop and grow the health and wellbeing programmes and the projects within these, namely Extra Time Hub, FIT FANS, Sporting Memories and Team Talk.

· Ensure projects deliver in line with pre-defined outcomes and KPIs through effective project management.

· To line manage staff working within the health and wellbeing programme.

· To maintain and develop links and partnerships with key community organisations and funders within the programme including but not exclusively EFL Trust, Premier League Charitable Foundation, Bolton Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, Bolton Council, Bolton CVS and Bolton Integrated Partnership.

· To deliver against funding targets in line with set programme priorities and budget.

· To identify, then develop, write and collaborate with the funding team on applications for grant, tenders and commissioned pieces of work.

· To ensure all project work is recorded on our monitoring and evaluation system ‘Substance Views’ in relation to any associated projects/programmes.

· To manage the budget of all projects under the health and wellbeing programme.

Coordinate the operational day to day running of the projects under the health and wellbeing programme, ensuring quality delivery, innovation and supporting staff in any aspect of their work.
Collaborate with other Programme Leads on the Charity’s operational running.
Collaborate with other Programme Leads on cross programme pieces of work and innovation.
Regularly evaluate the programme and ensure continuous improvement in terms of outcomes


ESSENTAL CRITERIA


Qualifications:

A degree within health or equivalent experience in the health sector.
A Levels, NVQs or BTEC or equivalent experience within the industry.

Ability and Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisation, planning and record keeping skills
IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
A passion to strive for continual improvement and a commitment to delivering a quality service
Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
Ability to prepare and present monitoring reports
Experience

Experience of coordinating, delivering and evaluating projects, achieving set targets and KPIs.
Experience of working with marginalised groups to deliver positive health outcomes.
Experience of working with broad range of health organisations including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations.
Experience of developing strong relationships both internally and externally with key stakeholders.
Experience of managing large scale project budgets.
Experience of people managing and leading a high performing team
Experience of successfully navigating the health landscape
Experience of successfully bidding for local authority tenders and funding applications and working with local commissioners
