Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training, and facilities for our youth football provisions.
In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level we have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department.
2. The Role
We are seeking a self-motivated, forward-thinking, and proactive individual to join the team.
In this role, you will assist in the development and delivery of all aspects of physiotherapy services to the Professional Development Phase (PDP) (U21/18s) squads, whilst contributing towards the Academy Medical and Sport Science Department’s vision of optimising player health, availability and performance through an elite evidence-based medical provision.
Working at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, you will implement effective assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured players in the PDP squads and adopt a proactive approach to injury prevention, delivering individualised and group athletic development sessions.
3. The Person
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications:
· BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (minimum 2:1)
· MSc in a Physiotherapy related subject
· Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
· FA Level 5 Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification
You must have demonstratable experience of providing a high-quality physiotherapy provision to elite young footballers in a full-time capacity within a football academy. You must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of applied anatomy and be able to perform clear and structured injury assessments that accumulate in accurate injury diagnosis and associated detailed rehabilitation planning.
You must be able to work in a team environment with extensive previous experience of working within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (Category 1 Academy) and qualification in Strength and Conditioning principles in rehabilitation would be desirable.
