Wisconsin United FC was established in 2020 with the merger of 3 legacy clubs, becoming one of the largest clubs in Wisconsin. The club has over 2,500 members in programs ranging from recreational level, competitive local, competitive state, and competitive regionally. WIUFC is a leader in player development, supporting programs for all age groups and genders.
The Premier Academy Director will collaborate with the club's Directors of Coaching to develop, improve, implement, and supervise player development. The Premier Academy Director shall support the Club and all its current and future programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for working with soccer players of all ages, staff, and community coaches. The candidate will thrive in a community club high-performance soccer environment and demonstrate a passion for continuous program improvement and leadership. The candidate will have a strong passion for taking the club to the next level that aligns with the Club’s strategic goals. The candidate must work well in a team environment and will inspire, delegate, and motivate others. As a key leader in the club, the candidate will be looked upon for professionalism, mindfulness, organization, and good communication. This position will report directly to the DOCs.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Premier Academy ExperienceLead the operations for our Premier programs practices and games for our 15 to 19 age groups. Collaborate with Premier staff for scheduling and execution of day-to-day activities.
Youth Player DevelopmentParticipate in developing and implementing the “WI United FC Experience” for premier players from ages 15-19. Evaluate ongoing player development needs and issues; Build competitive and player development models; Design programs to support the player development models. Program components are to include pre-season and in-season training for competitive players.
Other dutiesAs may be assigned from time to time may include but are not limited to backfill for unexpected and critical coach absences for the team and Technical support; On-field coaching; Develop player pathways and work with outside organizations to facilitate these pathways.
QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to candidates who possess a USSF B license or higher. Preference will be given to individuals with a degree, diploma, and/or equivalent experience. Experience managing, mentoring, and motivating highly-qualified, elite coaching personnel. Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical planning to non-technical stakeholders, including parents. Strong use of various software programs. A passion for youth development across both house and divisional levels, as well as occasional adult support. Knowledge of best practices for program planning and player evaluation. Demonstrated effective communication and conflict management skills for players, coaches, our parent membership, and occasional Adult players. Ability to develop a fun and engaging rapport with youth and adults. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. A key element of success will be to forge bonds with members of Wisconsin United FC by being present and active on the soccer sidelines during the week for practices and on weekends for games for premier teams aged 15 - 19.
A Valid driver’s license is required.
