JOB TITLE: Pre-Academy Co-ordinator
DEPARTMENT: Recruitment
REPORTING TO: Luke Sharps (Pre-Academy Manager)
LOCATION: Cobham
JOB PURPOSE: - Our Local Recruitment department is driven to continue to recruit the very best local talents and maintain our success in Academy local recruitment. Therefore, we require this senior role to support the Head of Local Recruitment. A Co-ordinator role within the Pre-Academy department to support the Pre-Academy Manager with the management of the Development Centre programme. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and
delivery of the coaching programme.
Contract: 40 hours working across any seven days.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and Deliver the 35 Week Pre-Academy Development Centre Coaching & Games
Programme
• Oversee U6 & U7 Festivals to select the best players
• Ensure that the U7 parents are presented to at key points in the season,
• To evaluate all centres before rebooking facilities Development Centre Programme.
Liaise with all venues that the programme uses to ensure relationship is strong year round.
• Manage and oversee the player database, dealing with new player invites and release procedure for players within the Pre-Academy
• Manage the Pre-Academy Centre Visit feedback forms from the Pre-Academy Coordinator, highlight top players and coach feedback.
• Manage the data submitted inserted by coaches on the Pre-Academy Registers Excel Doc to help with our offer selection process.
• Communicate regularly with scouts regarding players in Pre-Academy Development Centres and players of interest at other clubs
• To identify, manage and recruit the best possible coaches at our Pre-Academy
Development Centres
• Lead Head Coach Meetings and In Service Training events.
• Lead staff reviews with the Pre-Academy Development Centre coaches.
• To promote staff into the academy via the pathway from Pre-Academy as required
• To make sure each centre is run professionally, organised and well managed between Head Coach and Scout Co-Ordinator. Deal with any problems from parents/players that arise.
• Support and Assist on recruiting the best U8 talents in London & South East for Chelsea Football Club, securing all of the talents a registration is offered to.
• Support and assist the U8 off the Pitch Schedule including Key Events, (Mascot, Box, Parents Evening, Christmas, Induction Day)
• Regularly feedback to Pre-Academy Manager, Head of Pre-Academy, Head of Local Recruitment & Head of Youth Development about best players and coaches and scouts in the Pre-Academy.

• Fulfil the Clubs mandatory CPD obligations
• In addition to the Club mandatory CPD requirements you will maintain a Personal Development Plan to include wider development in leadership and personal growth
• Lead by example and promote a culture of continual professional development and learning throughout the Recruitment and Scouting Team,
• Regularly update your Continual Professional Development area on the Clubs Learning Management System – Blue Learn

• Compliance with all regulations and club policies.
PROUD TO BE CHELSEA (Person Specification):
Experience
• Experience of an elite performance environment with particular understanding of dealing with high performing teams and individuals
• Have previously worked across a diverse group of stakeholders – experience delivering on guidance from senior management and leading a team of staff.
• Experience using high level presentation skills, both verbal and written, to communicate information and data to support critical decision making.
• Confident in using different systems and developing processes.
• Three years of coaching experience within the relevant age groups in an Pre-Academy/Academy environment.
• Previous experience of line managing staff in a coaching environment
• Three years’ experience recruiting players in a Pre-Academy environment.
Skills and Behaviours:
• Outstanding communicator both verbal and written across a diverse set of stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to translate an outcome strategy to operational tactics to deliver on the guidance of senior management.
• Ability to prepare data reports for senior management to update on the progress of the
players within the Pre-Academy.
• Emotional intelligence and empathy to lead a remote global workforce.
• Highly skilled in using MS office.
• Ability to effectively manage staff relationships.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
