Role description
We are looking for aPortfolio Office Senior Managerto oversee the development and implementation of an organisation-wide framework, processes, and operating model for project delivery, including the establishment of an organisation-wide Change Approval Board (CAB) to assist the safe initiation of new projects and delivery of in-flight projects.This important rolewill establish the central portfolio office as a centre of excellence for project delivery and will provide the visibility and insight required to enable decision makers to make more informed decisions

Your day-to-day
Establishing an organisation-wide standard framework for project delivery, including a set of standards and templates to assist successful delivery.
Establishing organisation-wide processes of project reporting and control.
Supporting the establishment of an organisation-wide Change Approval Board to assist the safe initiation of new projects and delivery of in-flight projects.
Establishing and leading a Portfolio Office responsible for:
Maintaining the overall project pipeline for the club, supporting projects through the project lifecycle, preparing and managing CAB meetings and facilitating the change request process.
Understanding project resource requirements (internal and external), advising on any upcoming resource pinch-points, identify, and helping close any capability gaps.
Creating portfolio level status reports and dashboards for the Exec, highlighting areas of concern or progress, identifying any key dependencies and trends in project risks and issues.
Coaching PMOs and project teams on risk management, assisting with developing effective risk management and issue treatment strategies, creating and managing a portfolio level risk and issue log and escalate to the CAB as required.
Helping projects maintain their benefits case throughout the project lifecycle, reviewing project benefits in advance of each stage-gate and report any changes.
Developing and maintaining project standards, guidance, templates, and tools for the club, providing training and coaching to project teams, continually reviewing and applying best-practice to ensure the governance process is adding value, be an ambassador for good project delivery across the club.
Providing PMO support for Operations to support programme and project managers to adopt the framework for project delivery, tracking and reporting on status and objectively assess project performance to assure benefits delivery.
Supporting all projects to understand and apply the club requirements for brand, culture, sustainability, diversity and inclusion and other priorities as required. Addressing any risks or identifying opportunities to ensure our project portfolio supports the overall ambitions of the club.
What we are looking for
A P3O Practitioner Qualification.
MSP and/or PMQ and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification.
Demonstrable experience of running a Project Management Office (PMO)in a non-delivery focused organisation.
Experience of setting up PMO functions.
Ability to support both traditional and agile project delivery methodologies.
Able to collect, analyse and present data in clear, cogent style.
Experience of running RAID management and Planning workshops.
Previously developed and managed Change Approval Boards.
Experience of reporting to executive level boards on portfolio status, issues, and success.
Training Needs Analysis and training materials production experience.
Experience of recruiting and managing a small team.
Ability to build teams and lead collaborative working organisations.
Easy, clear, and concise communication style.
Demonstrates “open and inclusive” leadership approach.
