Title: Player Relations ManagerReports To: Sporting Director and Director of Team Operations, Team Administrator Coaching StaffAbout St. Louis CITY SCIn August 2019, TKFC LC was granted Major League Soccer's (MLS) 28th team - St. Louis CITY SC. The team will be MLS' first majority female-owned and female-led organization and has its sights set on launching for the 2023 MLS season. The 100 percent St. Louis-based owners are committed to becoming an exceptional club and neighbor and a symbol for the future of our city and region. The team will be a part of the fabric of St. Louis and will become a symbol for the future. This is more than sport; the team will work to connect the city and region through passion and purpose. These characteristics define the team's culture, and the team's employees must also embody these traits.PurposeThe Player Relations Manager will provide administrative support and enhance communication among players, families, coaches, and staff. This position will support the Team Administrator for taking care of all the logistical details of travel, training, and match day operations, as well as help the players integrate into the St. Louis community smoothly.Essential Functions and OutcomesCoordinate a welcoming process of relocating/onboarding new players and familiesPrimarily focus on housing, education, and lifestyle optionsAssist with obtaining driver's license, social security number, bank account, etc.Develop a database of contacts, networks and vendors that support our player services departmentAssist Game Day experience for player familiesTravel with the team as needed and provide operational support with team travel, training and gameday experienceAssist in tracking player-related spendings, in compliant of the CBA (Workday experience preferred)Work closely with Front Office for sponsorship opportunities and player appearancesIntegrate new players and help with onboarding procedures when new players arriveServe as an internal office consultant in regard to players' perspectivesCharacteristics and SkillsProven ability to work in a team-oriented environmentAn eagerness to learn and develop knowledge and skillsA high standard of work performance and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality resultsDetail-oriented and organized with effective time management and prioritization skillsFlexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needsStrong communication skills to effectively work with both internal and external constituents, with an emphasis on communicating the mission, vision, and culture of the club, families, coaches and community membersAbility to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.Very strong negotiating skills required.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to work with managers, staff and outside parties concerning travel arrangements.Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflictsProficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPointExperience and QualificationsThree years responsible administrative and travel booking experience; or bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment and two years responsible administrative and travel booking experience.Proactive in identifying and completing tasks applicable to the job.Ability to problem-solve and exercise sound judgment.Experience using database application software and/or online reservation systems preferred.Knowledge of the principles and practices of administration, regulations and operating procedures, as well as accounting and budgeting procedures. Effort This position will require talking, listening, standing, and physical activity for long periods of time. Must be able to work on a part-time basis.Out-of-Office ResponsibilitiesMust be able to work evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required. This position will require flexibility of work schedule. Travel includes frequently driving a motor vehicle, valid driver's license with insurance is required.Background CheckSt. Louis CITY SC contacts references and performs background checks on all candidates for coaching and staff positions.
