Role description

Sheffield United Women are looking for a Physiotherapist to provide physiotherapy support to both our Academy and First Team squads. This will involve the provision of rehabilitation clinics plus pitch side cover for training and games, primarily during evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will be required to support the management of injury, delivery of rehabilitation programmes, MSK and medical screening, pitch side first aid, medical note keeping and upload to PMA.
Role Responsibilities:

Work pitch side at both home and away matches, assessing players for fitness to play following match injury.
Deliver first aid treatment to injured players including assessment for brain injury as necessary.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and liaise with players and parents (where applicable) to ensure complete medical services are provided to the highest possible standard.
Communicate the injury status to the Sheffield United Women and Girls Academy Physiotherapist, other appropriate medical personnel and the wider medical team.
Liaison with and manage appropriate pitch-side personnel during games, including physiotherapists, paramedics, opposition physiotherapists etc.
To be available for directed advice outside contact hours, within reason.
To participate in the training and development of all Sports Science/medical team staff.
To ensure adequate stocks of appropriate medicines, appliances and equipment when at away matches.
To complete medical records and ensure the completion of all appropriate paperwork / electronic records for players.
Maintain own appropriate Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Undertake any typical Physiotherapist duties as directed by your manager.
Undertake any and all additional work or duties as required and directed by the Academy Physiotherapist, Academy Manager or Club.

Essential Criteria for the role:

BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge and experience of using gym aware app to inform individual force velocity profiles.
Knowledge and experience in designing and delivering prehabilitation sessions.
Ability to communicate effectively with an excellent working personality.
Professional approach to all aspects of work; punctual, reliable and diligent.
Strong motivational ability.
Able to work as part a team in a inter disciplinary sport science and medicine department.
The post requires a mandatory, enhanced DBS check.
