ROLE DESCRIPTION

Job OverviewThe Club Physical Therapist will be primarily responsible for the rehabilitation of the Player. The Physical Therapist will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and Head Athletic Trainer. Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist, the Physical Therapist will coordinate rehabilitation, evaluations, plan of care, progress notes, and discharge notes on all Players.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorking in collaboration with the Medical Staff:Performs physical therapy services for the Club’s Players under the guide of the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist as ordered by the Club’s Chief Medical OfficerProvide up-to-date physical therapy evaluation, plan of care, progress notes, and discharge notes maintained in the League electronic medical record (EMR)Maintain a complete and up-to-date physical therapy record in the League EMRMaintain Physical Therapy supplies and clinical equipmentComply with all MLS medical policies and protocolComply with OSHA standards with regard to blood borne pathogensParticipate as part of the Club’s Medical Staff as required by the ClubEducational ExperienceFour (4) year bachelor’s degreeDoctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT)Licenses or CertificationsPassed National Physical Therapy ExamPossess personal professional liability insuranceActive, credentialed and licensed in the state(s) where the Club has home matches or trainsCPR certification for Health Care ProviderPreferred APTA OCS, SCS or NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainers/Therapists, CSCS, and/or PES, Certified Performance Sport Specialist (CPSS)Work ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience in a sports environment at an elite levelSoccer experience preferredD.C.
