Position:                                           Performance Analyst – First TeamDepartment:                                   First TeamReporting Relationship:               Reports to Head Video CoachStatus:                                               Full-Time (Exempt) About Charlotte FCCharlotte FC played its inaugural season in Major League Soccer in 2022. The club set a MLS attendance record in its opening game with over 74,000 spectators in Bank of America Stadium and has been at the top of MLS in attendance throughout its first two seasons. The club has a fully funded player development pathway that is tasked with identifying and developing professional players from across the Carolinas and beyond to play in Major League Soccer (MLS).    Position SummaryThe First Team Performance Analyst will be key in providing support to the First Team Coaching Staff using both video and data analysis to provide valuable insights to impact team performance. This position will report to the Head Video Coach and work closely with the Technical Staff and be responsible for aspects of video and data breakdown. Primary Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties: Pre-Match: Opponent Scouting and Training SessionsCollaboration with analysis staff in coding games of opposition to our club-specific code windows which include our principles and phases of play. Providing clips to coaching staff who will then review and condense it for final presentation.Assist in preparing scouting reports and presentations.Individual player analysis for opposition.Coding training to our team principles and phases of play.  Live-Match: Coding Match to Our Style of PlayLive code the match to our team principles and phases of play.Support technical staff from booth upstairs communicating and sending key tactical moments down to bench.Working with Head Video Coach to get clips ready for halftime. Post-Match: Match Review and Analysis Using Data and VideoManage Hudl Library and disseminate individual clips to players. Work with coaching staff to review match using video and data.Ability to use data to evaluate trends and objectively analyze how closely we are matching up to our game model.Providing support to coaching staff for any IDP (Individual Development Plan) processes.  Technology ManagementManaging all video analysis software and equipment to maximize efficiency and delivery of video to coaching staff immediately after training and matches.Assist in delivering video presentations and reports to players and coaches.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of work experience as an Analyst working with Hudl, SportsCode, Studio, and Wyscout.Strong knowledge of soccer.Strong communication skills to effectively give messages to coaches and players.Experience pulling and integrating data into weekly workflow.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel).Preferred experience flying a drone.Strong work ethic and attention to detail.Good time management skills.  Flexible depending on team’s schedule including evenings/weekends and travel to away games as needed. Essential QualificationsPunctuality, accountability, and keen attention to detail in each duty.Discretion and trustworthiness related to sensitive club-related material.Ability to work independently and in a group and handle several tasks simultaneously. Ability to react quickly and positively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with carefully and with sensitivity. Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.Lift at least 20 pounds. Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment as well as outside in stadium facility environments.
