JOB TITLE: Performance Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:Supporting the development and performance of the Washington Spirit team through the delivery of video analysis, data driven decision to coaching staff and interdisciplinary team.POSITION OVERVIEW:Requires a dynamic, self-motivated individual to lead the day-to-day efficiency of Washington Spirit team through data analysis, video analysis and preparation of materials regarding game, training, opposition, and scouting reports.WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Training: film, code, and database training sessions. Produce engaging, educational video content relative to best practice team, unit, and individual performance.
Match day: film in wide angle & live code all Washington Spirit games relative to the clubs playing philosophy and best practice coding system.
IDP: assist and aid in the delivery of individual development plans for each member of the Washington Spirit
Best Practice: Understand, collect & update all tactical & technical best practice databases relative to team, individual and position specific performance.
Lead in opposition analysis for all Washington Spirit opponents
Supporting in daily/weekly/annual monitoring material and files, including:
Individual Development Plans
Daily training sessions
Performance Tracking & Development:
Database, track and develop individual learning objectives for each player within Washington Spirit
Track each player & coaches’ utilization of our online video feedback tool.
Be creative in finding ways to increase its utilization & engagement.
Contribute to the overall wider working and development of the Performance Analysis DepartmentWHAT YOU’LL BRING:3+ years of work experience as a Performance Analyst at a professional soccer organization
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey messages to colleagues, coaches, and players.
An enthusiastic approach and proactive attitude.
Must have good knowledge of soccer – either as former player, coach or similar.
Must have good computer literacy skills and able to assimilate new software processes quickly.
Familiarity with major Performance Analysis software (Sportscode, Piero, Second Spectrum), Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint), Mac software (Keynote, iBooks Author) and Editing software (Final Cut Pro. Adobe Suite) strongly preferred.
Familiarity and experience filming sporting events from a coaching perspective is preferred.
Have flexibility to work differing hours on a weekly basis (including evening and weekends) and travel in accordance with competition schedules
Ability to manage workload, set deadlines and priorities and strong time management skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Applicant must be able to comply with NWSL SafeSport policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NWSL
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
