Position Title

Performance Analyst, Women’s National Team

Reports To

Head Coach, Women’s National Team

Overview

As part of the Women’s National Team Technical Staff, the Performance Analyst will be responsible for the design and delivery of data and video analyst to support sustained winning performances of the WNT. Supporting the Technical team, this role is critical in the coaching process to improve our players and team style of play as well as ensuring a comprehensive understanding of opposition and world trends.

Working Relationships

Women’s National Team Staff, Youth National Team Staff, FIFA Exchange Platfrom, various external provider software leads.

Work Hours & Location

Frequent travel required for International Camps
The Performance Analyst, Women’s National Team is required to comply with all Canada Soccer policies regarding core days and core hours (camp days excluded).

Characteristics & Background

Bachelors degree in Sport
Proven track record working as a Performance Analyst within an elite football environment
Able to operate drone and possess working knowledge of managing training camera is preferred
Able to demonstrate experience combining an data skillset and tactical understanding to support player and team development
High level of Mac iOS computer competency using various analysis softwares and programs including Hudl product suite, Wyscout, Coach Paint, Keynote, iMovie and other presentation- based programs.
Excellent organization and communication skills with flexible and dedicated approach to work
Able to work reliably under pressure meeting tight deadlines whilst maintaining high standards

Scope of Services

Co-ordinating and managing player access to relevant match / training footage using various platforms
Measure and Interpret key data and metrics, develop and create interactive reports and presentations to support player and team development
Live coding and filming of training sessions/ matches and preparation of subsequent video analysis
Support the in depth opposition scouting process with the sharing of information, video, and key metric information to the technical team
Support the development of the WNT Coaching Playbooks and Curriculum and ensure all documentation is housed and shared in a user friendly and organized manner
Researching and maintaining an up to date understanding of new technologies and presentation methods as well as trending topics, new solutions and other innovation within the game
Coordinate and share weekly club/college footage within the technical team to support the scouting and individual development plan process
Support research projects to ensure the WNT continues to innovate and meet the demands of Tournament and International football with critical data that inform the technical team
Support the Individual development plan process with relevant metrics / graphics and video
Assisting and supporting meeting, training and match logistics, as well as additional ad-hoc requests as required
Provide training and alignment in Performance Analysis across the WNT Program and work with the Youth EXCEL Director for any specific Youth National Team needs
Develop good relationships with Club and College Analysis staff
Where required support in the delivery of CSA webinars and Coach education in the area of Performance Analysis

Authority

The Performance Analyst, Women’s National Team will have the authority to manage day-to-day responsibitlies related to Performance Analysis both in and outside of camp.
Proposals for equipment and software will require sign off by the WNT Head Coach where budget expenditure is required
