Job Specification

Cardiff City Football Club are currently accepting applications for an analysis internship in
the 2024/25 Season. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic analysts who
are committed and willing to further their development. Candidates invited to interview may
be asked to complete a task to demonstrate their analysis skills and football understanding.
The ideal candidate should:
• Be enthusiastic about analysis and football.
• Have a professional attitude.
• Have good presentation and communication skills.
• Be reliable and willing to assist during evenings and weekends.
• Be local to the Cardiff area.
• Have previous experience with relative software (HUDL, Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint)

• Attend academy training sessions with designated age groups, working closely with
skilled professional coaches.
• Be provided with internal continuous professional development opportunities and
contribute towards the development of the “Academy Blueprint”.
• Develop skills to utilise industry leading software such as Sportscode, HUDL, and
Wyscout.
• Have access to Wyscout and academy databases to support university assignments
/ dissertations.
• Gain vast experiences of working in a professional football environment.
Placement Programme Responsibilities
• Filming all fixtures at home and occasionally away (Involving visits to academy
teams from the Premier League). Fixtures will take place on Sundays and
occasionally mid-week.
• Provide post-match analysis, with detailed video and/or statistical feedback on
games for coaching staff and players, using provided software.
• Supporting individual development plans for players with statistical and video-based
support in line with the ‘academy blueprint’.
• Maintaining and updating the academy HUDL video library and statistical databases.
• If required, be a key member within the Cardiff City ‘Blue Talent Group’ in which to
provide analysis specific to the needs of this group of elite level players.
