About the job
To provide the delivery of Physiotherapy services at predominantly PDP level and other phases as reasonably requested by Head of Physiotherapy for the Academy
Role specific accountabilities:
1-Acute Intervention: To contribute in the injury management of all EDS/U18 players with the aim of optimising the healing process and minimising time loss due to injury.
2-Injury Prevention: Minimise time loss due injury within the PDP by contributing to continued development delivery of appropriate screening and injury prevention strategies.
3-Rehabilitation: Design evidence based protocols for return to full function of the academy players and allow them to compete at the highest level while minimising the risk of reoccurrence of injury.
4-Encourage an interdisciplinary approach of working within the department that includes close links to all areas of the club.
5-To maintain all legal and professional qualifications in relation to own profession and help to maintain the equivalent standards for all the therapists within the department.
6-Provide emergency aid cover for both training sessions and matches. To maintain up to date ATMMIF accreditation to meet all legal requirements for this specific part of the role.
7-To attend and professionally engage in the internal emergency aid training programme.
8-To maintain detailed records for the department of all therapy care in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
9-To create relationships with players, their parents and coaches to support injury rehabilitation needs.
10-To contribute to appropriate Continuous Professional Development training for all academy therapists.
11-To utilise the latest clinical, scientific and technical innovations within clinical practice maintaining the highest level of care.
Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:
Essential
A good knowledge of injury management pathways in elite sports medicine.
A good knowledge of medical screening/injury profiling in the elite sporting population
Challenge staff performance, standards, values & behaviours according to the Academy Code of Conduct.
Be able to work to tight deadlines & be flexible in the expected working pattern.
Have the ability to work in a fast moving environment.
Develop networks, create and maintain effective working relationships.
Have facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflicts.
Establish relationships and influence key stakeholder groups.
Managing change and embedding new ways of working.

Experience working in a UK professional football club or other elite sporting environment.
Experience in the provision of sports rehabilitation within high performance sport.
Experience in work of a physiotherapy department either within football or within another high performance sport.
Experience in coach and athlete education in high performance sport.
Experience of using data management systems to ensure the secure and efficient storage of monitoring and evaluation data.

HPCP registered
ATMMIF qualification
Evidence of a structured CPD portfolio – including post graduate qualifications showing a range of clinical skills, e.g. Manipulative Therapy, Movement Dysfunction Assessment, Injury Surveillance, Relevant Medical & Injury Screening/Profiling, Soft Tissue Mobilisation/Manipulation, Acute Injury Management, Acupuncture & Rehabilitation skills preformed at the elite sporting level
Desirable
MSc in relevant area
CDP portfolio may include courses on Child Development & Human Science
