The Role of PDP Athletic Development Coach
Brentford FC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Athletic Development Coach to join the Academy Sports Science and Medicine Department, to lead the design, delivery and continual evaluation of rehabilitation strength and conditioning within the Professional Development Phase (B Team / U21 / U18), in alignment with the Academy vision. Additionally lead the delivery of physical and athletic development to specialist positions across the B Team and U21 squads.
Main Accountabilities
To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.
Lead the mid-long term injured strength and conditioning programming for PDP squads in conjunction with the PDP Rehabilitation Physiotherapist, wider Academy Sports Science and Medicine team and club-wide philosophies, to ensure continuity between Academy and 1st Team.
Assist in the creation and delivery of a physical and athletic development programme for B Team and U21 players in alignment with the Academy Sports Science and Medicine team objectives and wider club Athletic Performance team to ensure continuity for players transitioning between Academy and 1st Team.
Assist in the reporting on all players for regular multi-disciplinary reviews.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary coaching, sport science and medical team with an athlete centred approach.
Work matchdays with the B Team and U21 squads and travel on specific tours throughout the year.
Assist in the creation and delivery of an age-appropriate sport science education curriculum.
Have knowledge of the Youth Development Rules and ensure all relevant rules and evidence for the role is documented.

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics
BSc in Sport Science / Strength and Conditioning or equivalent
MSc (or MRes) in relevant field
FA EFAiF qualification or ability to obtain within 6-months
Demonstratable experience of working in full-time elite sport environment (min 3 years)
Demonstratable experience of working with technological equipment (STATSports GPS, VALD Performance Products, Polar HR Monitoring Systems, or equivalents)
High level of communication and interpersonal skills
Experience of, and strong desire to work with junior athletes
Capability to devise and deliver a syllabus of work
Possess the drive and motivation to set high standard and achieve company objectives
Have a personable approach
Ability to liaise with footballers, coaches, management and other football related individuals in a professional manner
Flexible and happy to work evenings and weekends

Demonstratable experience of working in full-time elite sport environment within rehabilitation focussed domain
British Association of Sport and Exercises Science (BASES) Accreditation
