Company BackgroundThe Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.   The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.   Purpose of the Job This role will actively collaborate with the full academy staff and support our player pathway. This supporting and developmental role will include being part of a team of passionate professionals who are highly motivated to elevate our Club and Academy objectives.  Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures players demonstrate our values of team first, accountability, respect and pursuit of excellence. Supports team training and/or individual player training sessions for various age groups. Supports the execution of individual player reports, video learning, training planning, and periodization. Communicates with the Academy Administrator and/or Coordinator to ensure a well-organized and professional daily environment. Collaborates with Academy Performance Coach to support gym sessions, GPS monitoring, and workload management to optimize physical development of all Academy players. Supports the Player Care Coordinator to ensure commitment to player education and well-being. Communicates with Academy Talent ID Coordinator to actively support player identification and recruitment. Assists at Academy home matches as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualification RequirementsMinimum of 5 years coaching or in a specialized role (video, sports performance, psychology, nutrition, education, etc.) – Required. Bachelor’s degree – Preferred. Bilingual – Preferred. Professional playing experience – Preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience using game analysis software (Sports Code / HUDL). Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other AttributesPassion for holistically developing young student-athletes. Experience in developing young professional soccer players. Strong leadership and organizational skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others. Versatile and agile, able to respond effectively within a dynamic field. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion. Maintains Organizational Core Competencies.  Organizational Core CompetenciesAccountable – Holds themselves (and when appropriate others) accountable for achieving goals and objectives.  Collaborative – Works collaboratively with others to achieve organizational outcomes.  Progressive – Open minded, accepting, creative, and innovative in approach.  Values Driven – Being ethical in decision making and operating with professional integrity.  Agile – Achieves personal and organizational success within a changing, dynamic and complex              environment.
