Job Summary

The NCS team member will work closely with the team leader to lead, inspire, and guide a team of 16 young people through the NCS programme. They will help them to develop as a group, overcome challenges and successfully plan and run their own social action projects. The team member roles may be suited to individuals who have experience of working with young people and want to develop their skills in a fun and challenging environment.
Scope of job
The aim is to ensure/manage the delivery of high quality NCS sessions to mixed ability and gender participants. At all times the individual is to work effectively with club partners, schools, and youth clubs as well as maintaining a good relationship with the oung people and parents.

This is a position of trust and regulated activity ; it is subject to DBS Disclosure at Enhanced Level, satisfactory references and a six-month probationary period. This job description gives a general outline of the post and is not intended to be inflexible or a final list of duties. It may therefore be amended from time-to-time in consultation with the post holder. Appointment subject to the Terms and Conditions of service of Tottenham Hotspur
Dates: Team leaders work on one wave out of the four and are required for all phases of the project including attendance on the keep warm activities.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely alongside your team leader on the residential and non-residential NCS Summer Programme

Supporting and working to provide pastoral care of the participants.
Supporting and delivering personal development, team building and physical activities
Delivering guided group and individual reflection with participants
To deal with and manage any difficult, challenging or concerning behavior, with the support of and liaising with the other team members where appropriate
To contribute to regular surveys and feedback sessions over the programme as part of the evaluation process
Mentoring and supporting the NCS participants to help them recognise their natural strengths, talents and how they have grown as individual and as a team member
To participate and complete all additional training that is required (online resources and video’s)
Attending keep warm sessions to encourage young people to attend the programme
