Job Description Job Description Wigan Athletic Community Trust is looking to recruit for 3 x NCS Team Leaders for summer 2022. As part of a larger NCS staffing team you will lead, inspire and guide a team of 16 young people through a five-week programme (including one residential week) to help them develop as a group, overcome challenges and successfully plan and run their own social action projects. You will: • Support up to 15 young people through each phase of the NCS programme. • Be an NCS ambassador, positive role model and an inspiration for your team to help them succeed throughout their NCS experience. • Assist in the delivery of activities and safety of all participants throughout their NCS experience. • Act as liaison between young people, Team Leader, NCS Coordinator and NCS Project manager to resolve any minor issues on a daily basis. • Report any concerns, incidents or accidents to the Team Leader and NCS Coordinator. • Live with and support participants in residential activities in the residential aspects of the programme. This will include supervision of evening activities and dorms. • Assist with the Team Leader on all administrative paperwork and monetary requirements relating to the programme to the set deadlines and criteria. • Liaise regularly with the Team Leader to keep them informed of any issues and progress. Attend training events Including First Aid, Safeguarding, Risk Assessments, Guided Reflection, Team Building and Programme Management. The successful candidate will have: • Experience of working with teenagers. • Experience of facilitating small group discussions and reflecting learning. • Be able to demonstrate problem solving skills, ability to motivate, inspire and use your own initiative. • Be able to build a rapport with young people and maintain professional relationships. • Enthusiasm and drive to ensure successful delivery of NCS. • Ability to remain calm and composed in difficult situations. • Good organisational and problem solving situations. • Commitment to support young people throughout the duration of NCS. • Flexibility to meet the changing requirements of the role.
