About the job
Western Sydney Wanderers FC is seeking a dedicated Multicultural Engagement Officer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on delivering and enhancing football programs tailored to the diverse multicultural communities of Western Sydney. Working as part of the Community Team, this position plays a crucial role in bridging gaps and fostering inclusion through sport.

Key Outcomes


Collaborate with the Community Team to develop and implement football programs across Western Sydney’s diverse communities.
Create, implement, and deliver innovative and culturally sensitive programs, including government-funded projects, paid school projects, free in-school projects, and multicultural tournaments such as the Wanderers’ African, Asian and European Cup competitions held at Wanderers Football Park.
Work with the Community Engagement Officer (Clubs) to deliver programs in Wanderers network of grassroots football clubs.
Work with local multicultural community groups and organisations to create value and develop new opportunities for WSW community engagement outcomes.
Effectively use a Content Management System (CMS) for program management, tracking, and reporting.
Work with the Community Team to enhance fan engagement and promote inclusion in football programs.
Drive the club’s multicultural programs in schools, focusing on participation and community integration.
Achieve community, school, and participation targets, as well as revenue objectives.
Assist in managing due diligence and compliance across programs, ensuring adherence to child safety, data privacy, and governance reporting standards.

Brand Strategy Implementation:

Assist in developing and implementing the company's brand strategy to enhance the Wanderers' market position in the community.

Additional Duties:

Perform other tasks as required to meet operational requirements during peak demand and on match days.

Knowledge, skills and behaviour required

Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Sports Management, Community Development, Education, or related field.
Experience in coordinating community-based programs, preferably within sports or educational settings.
Deep understanding of the multicultural communities in Western Sydney.
Experience in managing CMS and proficiency in report writing and documentation.
Knowledge of child safety regulations, data privacy laws, and governance in Australia.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse cultural groups.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse community groups.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Passionate about football, community development, and cultural inclusivity.
Creative problem-solver with a collaborative working style.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Unique Criteria

Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as irregular hours and weekend work will be required for this role, such as working at events and some home matches.
