This 2 year post arises from the continuing expansion of the Institute of Sport & Exercise Science and is the continuation of an initiative to coach and mentor student athletes in a named sport (football) and to contribute towards outreach, recruitment and sporting events, whilst also (to a lesser extent) supporting full time academic staff. The University has a clear focus on developing opportunities to develop student/athletes and this will form a significant part of this role.
The University of Worcester has a commitment to an inclusive approach to sport and offers a wide range of opportunities and experiences for students at both recreational and performance level. The University currently field 5 men’s and 2 women’s football teams and engagement with both groups will be critical. The post includes registration for the institute’s taught Masters Degree programme and the completion of this will be a requirement. Expertise is sought in the area of coaching science and candidates are invited to specify areas of specialism. The person appointed will be allocated a mentor who will oversee coaching, teaching and administrative aspects of the role.
