We are currently seeking

a Finland Men's U19 National Team Head Coach

to be in charge of coaching the under-18 and under-19 men’s national teams and of the development processes of the player environments.

We are looking for someone with vision and comprehensive know-how of the coaching profession, who thrives in an international environment and in an important and results-driven role. A key part of this role is to develop the players and player value in line with the Football Association of Finland’s strategy. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to influence the future of Finnish football and guide the national team and players towards international success.

Your role

In this role, you will be at the heart of player development in the Football Association of Finland. Your key objective will be to develop the activities of the U-18 and U-19 national teams in partnership with the association’s clubs, so that their coaching, practices and game performance contribute to success in tournaments for national youth teams and aid the players’ progression onto international pitches and towards the men’s national team.

You will be part of the national teams’ backroom staff, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve our shared objectives. You will answer to the Head of Youth National Teams.

Your interesting and varied responsibilities include:

· The comprehensive development of the activities of the Football Association of Finland’s national U-18 and U-19 teams and related performance responsibility

· Player mapping and supporting quality everyday life for players in the U-18 and U-19 age groups

· Coaching and club cooperation (Veikkausliiga, Ykkösliiga)

· Developing coaching skills (acting as a trainer in in-service training, the implementation process of the Player Development Plan)

· Supporting the development of the competence of Academy Managers at hybrid academies (international standards of player development)

· Further development of the Football Association’s Player Development Plan

· Close cooperation and development of the common principles of play for national teams with other national team coaches

· Acting as a mentor for one talent coach

In the national team and player development activities of the Football Association, we use technology to support coaching as part of our coaching processes. Successful performance of this role requires:

· Knowledge of international football and networks (development of the game, operating models, organisations, networking skills)

· Football coaching experience at elite level (Finland or abroad)

· Pedagogical skills in working with young players

· Excellent leadership qualities (ability to lead in a structured and systematic way and to motivate your team and the clubs to achieve significant improvements)

· The ability to create a motivating and positive, inspiring atmosphere that encourages learning and the ability to build and lead a coaching team whose members have diverse expertise

· Excellent social skills and the ability to appear and make a good impression in public

· The ability to work independently and take responsibility for development processes and the willingness to commit to common approaches and processes for player observation and the development and analysis of playing styles

· Experience in cooperation in coaching networks, working in a team and in developing coaching skills

· The ability to use modern teaching methods and tools

· Continuous desire to develop oneself

· The ability to work in a performance-oriented role

· The role requires the ability to work in a mentally and physically demanding, competitive environment with high expectations of success

You have a UEFA PRO Licence and are proficient in at least English (oral/written). Knowledge of Finnish and Swedish is considered an advantage. This position requires the ability to travel domestically and abroad.
