ROLE DESCRIPTION

The College of Staten Island is one of the 11 senior colleges of the 25 colleges and institutions that comprise The City University of New York (CUNY). Responsibilities and Duties
Administrative Duties

The Head Men's Soccer Coach will report to the Director of Athletics for all matters related to the Men's Soccer program and will work closely with Admissions, faculty, administration, and staff to help advance CSI athletics.
The Head Men’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for facilitating the academic, athletic, and overall growth of every Men’s Soccer student-athlete, consistent with the Department of Athletics goal of providing an outstanding student-athlete experience. Additionally, this individual, will work closely with the Men’s Soccer Sport Administrator and Director of Athletics to continually assess and elevate the program’s status in the areas of academics, recruiting, staffing, budget tracking and reporting, equipment ordering, marketing/public relations, sports medicine, strength and conditioning,NCAAand conference rules compliance, alumni engagement, fundraising, and facility management.
The Head Men's Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics with the departmental budget expenditures for the Men's Soccer program. The successful candidate must also have excellent verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills should include word processing and spreadsheets.
Coordinate with other offices on campus including Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Advising and the Registrar to enhance the student-athlete experience.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Administration
Participate actively in campus events and on university committees to support the University community and provide a leadership presence.

Coaching Duties

Candidate must have excellent verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills should include word processing and spreadsheets.
Manage day-to-day activities of an NCAA DII soccer program.
Administration, supervision, management, and staff selection for the Men’s soccer program
Implementation of programs in the areas of scouting, strategy, recruitment, conditioning, and player development to enhance athletic performance and achievement, coupled with a keen focus on academic excellence
Recruitment of student-athletes in compliance with CSI, CUNY and NCAA DII policies procedures
Establish and maintain relationships with regional and national coaching organizations and associations.
Coordinate with facilities regarding the scheduling of practices and other team events on and off campus
Design, market and manage youth camps and clinics throughout the year.
Team practice and match preparation
Team scheduling and travel arrangements
Team budget preparation management
Responsibilities to also include fund-raising initiatives and programming

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred qualifications include:

Four years of collegiate or high school soccer coaching experience.
US Soccer National C or above Coaching License or United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma
CPR/AED certification is required (must be completed within three months of hire).
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary
Valid Driver's License
