ROLE DESCRIPTION

Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation through Winning England Teams.



The role will successfully collect, evaluate, and analyse bespoke advanced metrics for England Men's Senior players which in turn contributes to the identification, selection, performance insights and the individual development of English players.

What You'll Do?


Player Performance Data Collection
● Using bespoke FA data collection methods, code, evaluate and profile the playing performance of England long list players across all domestic / intercontinental club and England Senior Team matches.
● Ensure the highest level of data quality and reliability whilst working to tight delivery deadlines. (this requires working across weekends & midweek evenings throughout the season).
● Lead on maintaining coding standards across the other player/positional analysts by driving a quality assurance program and conducting weekly audits and reviews.
● Work with our Analysis Insights Lead and Lead/Senior Analysts to continuously refine analysis methods and metrics to improve the accuracy and relevance of player profiling.



Opposition Player Profiling
• Conduct in-depth profiling and generate customised video profiles and analytical summary reports for all England Senior Men's Opposition Players.



Data Visualisation and Player Profiling
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and the Analysis Insight Lead to create impactful data visualisations and benchmarks that can translate into tactical/technical insights.
• Assist the Analysis Insight Lead in developing comprehensive player profiles of England players to aid Senior Team analysts and coaches in providing individualised development feedback.



Other Accountabilities

Support the delivery of key internal projects and external research which support the further development of player analysis services.
Develop close and trusted working relationships with Senior Team Analysts, and the wider analysis department to always ensure a cohesive multi-disciplinary approach.
Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

What You'll Need?


Essential for the role:

• Experience in the development and delivery of comprehensive player /recruitment profiling in Football.
• Experience in using performance analysis systems and software.
• Excellent understanding of the technical and tactical demands of Professional football.
• Experience in the collection, manipulation and management of complex performance data sets.
• Experience of working in a professional football club.
• A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience
• Work conscientiously and with total discretion.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent operational planning skills



Beneficial to have:

● Masters or doctorate in a related field of work or equivalent experience
● Deep understanding of Talent science, player development [holistic], and evaluation of talent/potential.

Our Organisation

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.



Your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre unless the role is advertised as a home-based contract. The contractual location of this role can be found at the top of this advert on our FA vacancy page.
