The Broadcasting Team at the Premier League are looking for a Media Rights and Content Delivery Executive to join the existing Media Access Team. Reporting into the current Senior Media Rights and Content Delivery Manager, this role should provide a best-in-class service to our Rights Holders and Clubs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team of broadcasting experts at the Premier League. The role would suit a driven, ambitious and personable candidate, with excellent communications skills and a background in communications, content or media at a Club or a sports media company.
Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.
Working in support of the Senior Media Rights and Content Delivery Manager, assist with management the day-to-day relationships with allocated Clubs. This would include overseeing a proactive approach to access and content, and reactive resolution of issues.
Help deliver regular meetings with Club senior staff, covering shared strategic goals, content sharing, access and any general broadcast updates and issues.
Help manage the working relationships with domestic and international broadcasters, Premier League Productions (PLP) and other departments within the Premier League. This will include supporting on regular calls and face-to-face meetings with key personnel from those broadcasters.
Assist with the delivery of meetings across the department as directed. This will include organisation, presentation creation and minuting / action points.
Support the Senior Media Rights and Content Delivery Manager to produce the weekly reporting of matchweek and matchday delivery and the day-to-day running of the Section K governance process for allocated Clubs.
Support with the day-to-day management of the Matchday Filming Process for allocated Clubs.
Assist with the planning and delivery of the enhanced pre-season Media Access Days as directed.
Work with the Senior Media Rights and Content Delivery Managers to help with the line management of the PLP Access Team and strive to deliver new and innovative content strands. Attend the weekly PLP planning meeting.
Help represent the Media Access Team for a designated global territory as agreed with the Senior Media Rights and Content Delivery Manager.
Lead on Premier League projects outside of the business as usual as allocated by the Senior Media Rights and Content Delivery Manager. This could include central campaign work such as ePremier League, Hall of Fame, No Room for Racism and other CSR projects.
Assist with the day-to-day running of the domestic audio rights process.
Represent the team at regular internal Premier League meetings as directed, e.g. weekly Marcomms meetings.
Be responsible for the upkeep and management of all contact and media lists, ensuring they are current and accurate at all times.
Regularly attend matchdays, media access sessions and other events as required. This will involve building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of personnel.
Seek, drive and implement improvements in the media access framework, to enhance the content offering to rights holders. This should include regular research and benchmarking across a wide spectrum of sports and media rights.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements for the role
Significant experience working in a sports media or Club communications, media or content role. The ideal candidate would have experience in multiple areas.
A knowledge of / interest in football / sport and the workings of organisations involved in the industry.
Knowledge of either Club communications and media delivery or broadcast content planning and delivery.
Works calmly under pressure and has a keen, can-do attitude.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
First class Microsoft Office skills (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Excellent attention to detail and deadlines, taking pride in the quality of work produced.
Strong interpersonal and literacy skills with the ability to interact well with people at all levels.
Understanding of how to read situations sensitively and intelligently with a developing knowledge of strategic context (knowing when to persist and when not to).
Resilient and calm manner. Tactful and diplomatic.
Weekend working is a requirement of the role and there will be offsite meetings that require travelling away from the main London office.
