Position Summary

Developing world-class players is a core pillar for the long-term success and growth of Major League Soccer. MLS NEXT is the best youth player development experience in North America providing youth players with the highest levels of competition and training to prepare them for their futures, both in soccer and in life. The governance structure of MLS NEXT promotes collaboration, fosters innovation, and harnesses the expertise of all Member Clubs which now includes over 140 Clubs and 600 Teams. MLS NEXT accelerates the development of the best players in the US and Canada through comprehensive programming for players, coaches, referees, and parents. Clubs participating in MLS NEXT play through an 11-month season that concludes with playoffs and a final, crowning a national champion each season.

The Manager, MLS NEXT Club Administration is focused on player and coach registration, rules administration, and additional services to raise the professionalism of all Clubs in the program.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage MLS NEXT Club, player, and staff digital registration process for MLS NEXT, Talent ID, and Coaching Education programming
Manage and provide Club Support for MLS NEXT Rules, Technical Standards, Player Protocols, and additional League Processes on a daily basis
Manage Club Administration Coordinators, and ensure they are cross-trained in all administrative functions in the competition area of MLS NEXT.
Support fulfillment of all Club equipment in conjunction with Partnership Marketing
Support MLS NEXT disciplinary process including supporting data for committee
Staff liaison to MLS NEXT Environmental Working Group
Assist with Risk Management processes in conjunction with the Compliance Manager
Support administrative process of reviewing new and existing MLS NEXT membership
Coordination with other MLS/SUM departments supporting MLS NEXT

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of experience in the sports industry

Required Skills

Knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer and player development
Experience in digital registration systems and their working parts
High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
Strong leadership ability and presence
Ability to improve operational efficiency with a short-, mid-, & long-term vision
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Commitment to building positive team environments, and to work effectively within such teams
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to travel (20% - 30%) and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desired Skills

Bi-lingual business proficiency
General familiarity with database systems and basic coding is a plus.
