Direct Reporting Line To:Director of Football and Media Relations (TBC)
Commencement Date:ASAP
Duration:Permanent, Full Time

The Position:
The Football Association of Ireland is seeking a Communications Executive to drive the promotion of the League of Ireland.
The role is primarily based in the FAI Headquarters on the National Sports Campus and the candidate will work within the Football and Media Relations (Communications) Department reporting directly to the Director, Media Football Relations (TBC).
This role will require regular evening and weekend assignments. The candidate will also be expected to travel and represent the Association in a professional manner and live the FAI values at all times.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Devise and activate weekly, monthly, and annual Communications plans for the League of Ireland
Drive and promote media interest in the League of Ireland
Responsible for creation and distribution of editorial content on League of Ireland and FAI platforms and publications
Develop and create innovative and engaging content across League of Ireland and FAI platforms
First point of contact for all media enquires in relation to the League of Ireland
Build and manage relationships with national, regional and local media outlets
Liaise with and develop strong working relationships with club media officers
Support the development and management of LOITV direct to consumer OTT service
Work closely with other FAI Departments as required
Assist the Communications team on specific projects, weekly news monitoring and hosting of events
Other duties as assigned from time to time by the Director, Media Football Relations (TBC)

The successful candidate will have the following:

Third Level Degree preferred in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Sports Management or equivalent


In-depth knowledge of the League of Ireland and Irish football
Key understanding of news agenda and the Irish sports media landscape
At least 3 - 5 years; experience working in media and/or communications
Previous experience in the football industry is preferential
Strong understanding of social media (awareness, impact, implementation)
Proven track record in planning and delivering digital media campaigns
Previous experience of pitching fresh, creative approaches to projects
Experience in project management and delivery of KPIs
Experience in video editing and production is an advantage
Experience with Photoshop, Final Cut and Audio editing are highly desirable
Highly skilled in editing and working to strict deadlines

Ability to prioritise, be thorough, detailed orientated and solution focused
Possesses excellent organisational, communication skills (oral and written), IT and reporting skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail
Comfortable acting as a spokesperson and presenting in front of large groups
Be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (Full Microsoft office suite)/ Apple suite
Ability to deliver detailed presentations
Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders
Expertise in conducting interviews, writing match reports, and editing sensitive content
Willingness to adapt to challenges, to learn new techniques, and embrace opportunities for professional development
