Job purpose
To be responsible for coordinating and liaising with the Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine (HASSM) and U21/Senior Academy Physiotherapy (SAP) to deliver a high-quality evidence based medical support service to all players in the Under 18 age group in addition toassisting with the medical provision in the U21 and U9-U16 age group brackets.

Accountabilities
- To lead the provision of physiotherapy/medical services to all players in the U18 squad in conjunction with the Senior Academy Physiotherapy (SAP).- To have a close working relationship with the U21 Physiotherapist / SAP to ensure effective communication with the transition of players into the U21 environment.- To liaise effectively with the academy coaching staff on a daily basis in order to keep them informed of player availability for academy matches and training.- To lead the delivery of the RFC injury risk reduction programme to U18 squad in alignment with current evidence and departmental principles, in both group and individual settings.- To assist in coordinating pitch-side medical and trauma provisions for U18 fixtures in liaison with SAP- To provide pitch side trauma cover for all U18 fixtures ensuring ATMMiF qualification is up to date.- To support the Academy medical team as required in attending playermedical/specialist appointments.- To maintain and co-ordinate up-to-date cardiac screening for all U18 squad players in compliance with FA/EFL/PL requirements, in liaison with SAP/HASSM.- To facilitate in conjunction with SAP, the provision of medical services for all age groups U9- U16.- To provide accurate assessment and diagnosis of all academy player injuries.- To provide, log and develop high quality evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation plans of injured Academy players.- To provide and maintain up to date records of Screening Protocols as directed by SAP and in conjunction with EPPP requirements.- To maintain accurate records of injuries and medical interventions on Clubs PMA.- To maintain and deliver up to date, comprehensive and accurate age specific (throughout the academy), as directed by SAP, injury audits at 6-weekly intervals.- To maintain and update qualifications and CPD by both contributing to the clubs medical department in-service programme and attending external course in liaison with SAP- To attend department, Multidisciplinary, phase specific meetings as directed by HASSM.- To perform any other duties as requested by Head Physiotherapist, Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine, Senior Academy Physiotherapy, and Academy Manager.- To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation- There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
