Role description
Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Premiership Scottish Professional Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. The Club are looking to recruit a Lead Phase Academy Goalkeeping Coach who will be responsible for implementing position
specific Goalkeeping training programs across their assigned Academy phase. Also, responsible for providing matchday support to Goalkeeping Coaches each weekend.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Goalkeeping Coach who has worked within the Elite Football Academy environment with a focus on the development of talented young Goalkeepers. The successful candidate will collaborate with Goalkeeping Coaches and other Academy staff to plan, deliver, and evaluate coaching sessions in accordance with the Club Philosophy, Coaching Plan and Academy Game Model whilst contributing to a positive environment for young Goalkeepers to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for implementing coaching programs for young Goalkeepers, documenting session plans prior to the delivery of training sessions and post session reflection and evaluations with use of Sports Session Planner.
• Work with the assigned Academy phase at both training and matchdays.
• Ensure that all individual and team learning objectives link to the Academy Game Model and Hearts’ Position Specific Criteria.
• Liaise with colleagues and various coaching staff regarding coaching programs and individual Goalkeeper development including Medical, Analysis and Sport Science staff.
• Communicate with the Head of Academy Goalkeeping to report on the performance and progress of each Goalkeeper within the assigned phase.
• Provide support on matchdays to age group Goalkeeping Coaches, and ensure Goalkeepers are appropriately warmed-up pre-match.
• Create a positive environment for young Goalkeepers development.
• Assist in any other related duties that may be required by Senior Academy Staff.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
• Scottish FA Goalkeeping Coaching Award.
• UEFA Goalkeeping B and/or UEFA Goalkeeping A License (Desirable).
• Previous experience of working in an Elite Football Academy, focussing on development of Goalkeepers.
• Currently based in Edinburgh / can reliably commute to Edinburgh and other locations as per the needs of the position.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Valid UK driving licence.
