In 2021, FIFA launched the global Talent Development Scheme (TDS) to collaborate with its member associations (MAs) aiming to increase the competitiveness of their national teams following a 2-year landscape analysis. The underlying vision is that long-term, sustainable improvement of national team performance can only be achieved by creating the best possible talent development systems. As part of the TDS, FIFA technical experts – or TDS-Leads - provide advice, support and guidance to MAs in developing a strategic plan and a series of individual programs that will target improvements in their holistic talent development journeys.

These Are Your Key Tasks
Manage around 40 TDS-Leads responsible for delivering the TDS, the group of TDS Technical Experts and Talent ID experts
Lead the field team of TDS-Leads by acting as a point of contact, providing technical support, assessing their progress and performance as well as workload across the different strands of the TDS
Lead the four TDS Expertise Managers responsible for regional administrative support of the field team and support on synergies across the different strands of the TDS in their region
Manage the TDS processes and monitoring the implementation through KPIs towards TDS goals, in close collaboration with the research team and strategy lead
Ensure that the necessary resources and processes are in place and utilized effectively by member associations (MAs) to support the implementation of the programme
Oversee the design of the development & engagement plan of TDS-Leads, including TDS-Leads workshops and webinars
Contribute to the design of workshops, activities with MAs and other events and provide technical support
Refine and support project management tools to effectively manage the programme’s implementation, ensuring timelines are met and quality standards are achieved - in close collaboration with Operations
Support the quality assurance process for TDS applications received from MAs, providing technical feedback to the TDS-Leads as required
Provide regular monitoring and reporting on progress of the TDS Leads work with their MAs with specific focus on TDS funded projects and long term strategic plans, conducting internal evaluations in collaboration with the full team, and adjusting plans as necessary
Ensure effective internal coordination with FIFA stakeholder with a particular focus on the MA-Division as well as FIFA regional offices, Women’s Football Division, Confederations, Communication department, Safeguarding department etc. to guarantee alignment with internal policies and ways of working

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
Master in Sports related fields and a strong technical background in football
Sound knowledge and understanding of football development with minimum a coaching A licence
Minimum 7 years’ experience in the sporting (football) industry, with member associations and/or confederations and governing bodies with track record in administering projects and strong organisational and planning skills
Proven experience in developing, implementing and monitoring of football technical development programmes and strategies
Experience working with senior leaders in sports, including Federation Presidents, General Secretaries and technical staff
A professional and highly knowledgeable individual (in their chosen field) that inhibits high performance personal and working standards, with high respect for the game and for all those that work to support the development and growth of Football globally
Fluency in oral and written English. Any other widely used language (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, German) would be an asset
Authentic and personable, with high emotional intelligence showing genuine care and a desire to seek to understand others, and build long term relationships
Long-term and low self ego mindset, with a desire to see others succeed and manifest sustainable success
