Role description

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Academy at Watford Football Club. We are currently looking to recruit a Lead Academy FP/YDP Goalkeeping Coach. The role will be responsible for the delivery of the Goalkeeper development programme within the Academy's Foundation and Youth Development Phases U9’s – U16’s. The role includes working closely with the Head of Academy Goalkeeping in assisting the PDP U18’s – U21’s delivery and overseeing the transition of goalkeepers from the FP, to the YDP.

The role will be based at the clubs training ground in London Colney and will include working Academy fixtures, home and away, including overnight stays when necessary. There are no normal set hours of work for this role, you will work around the training regime and fixtures of the Academy.

The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and be flexible to the requirements of the position and the business.

Applicants should ideally live local to Watford and London Colney or the surrounding areas and be a UK resident or non-UK resident with a valid UK work permit and ideally have experience working within a similar role.

You must have:

Minimum Level 3 UEFA B Goalkeeping License
Experience of working within a within an academy environment/set up preferable within a similar age group
A proven track record of progressing all levels of FP/YDP goalkeepers
Valid FA Safeguarding Certificate
Valid FA Level 2 First Aid Certificate (EFAiF)
A clear understanding and appreciation of the standards of behaviour and codes of conduct demanded within the Academy
Full commitment to CPD
Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations due to the demands of the role
An understanding of the Clubs commitment to EDI & Safeguarding
This role will have regular contact with children therefore it will be required by law to have a DBS Enhanced Criminal Record Check with children’s barred list check.

You would ideally have, but not vital:

Level 4 UEFA A Goalkeeping license
FA Advanced Youth Award
