Role Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic full-time Lead Foundation Phase coach to join Millwall FC Academy. The successful candidate will work to develop well rounded individual’s and drive the long-term player development strategy of the Academy for the players and staff within the Foundation Phase.
The role will include the day-to-day organisation and management of the players and staff within the Foundation Phase, along with responsibilities of implementing the playing, coaching philosophy, visions & values of the Academy and the Club as a whole. With particular focus on the coaching programme, games programme and developing and implementing players individual development plans. The full-time role will also include responsibilities for the identification and recruitment of players within the Foundation Phase.
There will also be administrative tasks involved within the role, implementing 12-week player reviews, session plans, coordinating phase coach’s meetings and multi-disciplinary team reviews of players to ensure we meet the desired criteria of the EPPP. Good knowledge and experience of the PMA system would be beneficial.
You will be required to carry out other duties allocated to you by the Academy Head of Coaching including academy projects, support with coaches’ professional development (CPD) and devise age specific CPD for the Foundation Phase staff and any other tasks relevant to a member of staff at a Professional Football Club.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to develop as a coach in an elite environment, while working with the players and helping to install and lay down the foundations for the next generation of Millwall FC players.
Person Specification
The Qualifications:
·         Must hold UEFA A Licence
·         Must hold an Advanced Youth Award (8-11yrs) or working towards this.
·         Must hold FA Youth Modules 1,2 and 3
·         Must hold FA Emergency Aid or ideally BFAS
·         Must hold Safeguarding Children Certificate
·         Must hold an Enhanced CRB/DBS Certificate
·         It is desired that the successful candidate will hold a full driver’s licence with access to a vehicle.
The Person:
·         Must have Foundation Phase Experience within a Professional Academy
·         Must have knowledge of EPPP
·         The successful candidate shall display attributes that align with the values of the Academy:

·         From a safeguarding perspective, the successful candidate shall be resilient, self-aware and open            to sharing information.
Hours of work:
Full time work as the role requires. Due to the nature of the role, evenings and weekend work will be necessary.
