Description

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Tuesday through Saturday

Lecturer in Sport (0.5)/ Lead Football Academy Coach (0.5)

Key Purpose: To Lecturer on all Sports programmes and coach the College and Bath City Football Academy, to ensure all sessions and lessons are sequenced to develop the skills, behaviours and game knowledge required. To attend all fixtures.

Key Responsibilities

To support and deliver high standards of lecturing and football training sessions and to attend all fixtures and training sessions. To monitor and carry out assessment processes in accordance with the awarding body.
Plan, Lead and deliver coaching sessions to develop all students skills and knowledge of the game whilst ensuring that all students demonstrate positive behaviour on and off the pitch.
To organise fixtures, referees, and kit ready for match day.
To comply with the league regulations by submitting results and player information by the deadline.
To support the Sports strand in the management of each student journey on their programme of study by leading the pastoral support for the football academy players.
To have a clear understanding of the Sports programmes including level 1, 2, 3 and HE programmes.
To demonstrate awareness of the curriculum and to lead on the recruitment of new players.
To work closely with coaches and lecturers to give all students the best possible experience.
Demonstrate and lead with effective communication with players, parents/guardians and lecturing staff. Record information appropriately.
Devise a 1:1 player development plan that is reviewed regularly.
Communicate the team list at least 24 hours before the start of the match, ensuring those that are not included are provided with positive feedback resulting in positive communication.
To support with invigilation for Sport and/or English and Maths exams.
To deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes including functional skills, work skills and tutoring.
To deliver on Level E3, 1, 2, 3 and HE programmes as required by the demands of the curriculum.
Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
To communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department and the College.
To support the recruitment and retention strategy to improve the growth and quality of the football academy provision.
To play an active role in the new personal development framework programme to increase participation in all sports.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Relevant Degree in Sport or related subject
Teaching Qualification
GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above
Full UK driving licence
Level 2 Football Coach qualification
