ROLE DESCRIPTION

Kit Equipment Manager
Full Time (40 Hours)

Sunderland AFC are looking to recruit a Kit Equipment Manager to manage and oversee all aspects of Kit and Equipment for players, coaches and staff. This is a exciting opportunity to maintain the highest standard of kit care for all Sunderland AFC teams. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional kit equipment service and provide operational support to all teams based at the Academy of Light. You will be extremely organised, with a keen eye for detail, be a flexible team player with strong time management skills and a passionate work ethic. A clean driving license with flexibility to travel nationally internationally are essential to fulfil this exciting role and contributing to the overall success of the Football Department.

Club Responsibilities:

Attend all professional development events and actively engage in a personal development plan and integrated appraisal process.
Ensure compliance with all the policies and procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying regard to the Equal Opportunity, Dignity at Work and Health Safety and security policies.
Ensure the Club’s Safeguarding rules and regulations are adhered to at all times in accordance with current legislation.
Undertake additional duties to those above, either on a temporary or permanent basis, which the Club reasonably believes you are capable of carrying out, or for which you will be trained.


Core Responsibilities / Accountabilities:


Lead the clubs Kit Equipment department to ensure effective processes and practice’s that can service all Sunderland AFC teams to the highest possible standard.
Liaise with coaching and grounds staff to prepare and set out equipment required for training sessions.
In conjunction with coaching staff, lead on the ordering process of all equipment and training accessories required.
Set and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the Academy of Light, including, but not limited to, the kit room, changing rooms boot room.
Ensure all kit is fully laundered (washed dried) correctly and packed away within the required timelines.
Ensure all players have the correct clothing as required and that it is personalised to the player in line with rules and regulations.
Coordinate the organisation of Club kit and ensure it is organised for travelling, training, and match days, depending upon the Clubs requirements and player preference.
Assist the sports science and medical departments with storage and inventory management, and to be responsible for the transportation of medical equipment, food and supplementation for match day.
Liaise with the Football Administration Manager for match kit confirmation.
Travel to all First Team fixtures and attendance on pre-season tours is non-negotiable.
Manage the Kit Equipment efficiently and deploy staff across the programme to meet the needs of all teams.
Develop and maintain an electronic monitoring and logging system for Kit Equipment that provides live data of stock levels and planned distribution in line with Club budgets.
Liaise with the club retail department on stock levels
To ensure the Club brand is promoted as allowed on all kit
To maintain the kit van log book at all times, and liaise with relevant club personnel regarding services, vehicle tax, insurance and any damages
Point of contact for all Kit Equipment requirements with Club Technical Partner.


Person Specification:


Knowledge of the relevant competition rules/regulations and laws of the game with prior experience managing Kit Equipment for a large sporting institution, preferably within football.
Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contracts and partners, acting in a professional manner always.
To create successful and professional relationships with players and staff whilst maintaining professional distance from playing staff at all times.
Physically fit with the ability to lift and carry kit equipment.
Driven to achieve deadlines, organise and prioritise workload effectively, and continually review ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Able to communicate effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds and is competent in MS Office, intranets, web and Outlook.
Must be highly organized and assertive with strong communication and time management skills.
Takes responsibility for ensuring a high standard of work.
A hardworking, enthusiastic and high spirited who takes great pride in their work.
Displays a high level of discretion and maintains strict confidentiality.
Flexibility to travel both nationally and internationally as required.
