ROLE DESCRIPTION

INTERNSHIP SPORT SCIENTIST & PHYSIOTHERAPIST -
MJÄLLBY AIF FIRST TEAM & ACADEMY (2 SPOTS)
REPORTS TO: Head of performance.
LOCATION: Strandvallen, 294 95 Sölvesborg, Mjällby AIF.
INTERNSHIPS TERMS: Full time (11 MONTH FROM 1th of JANUARY 2025).

THE ROLE:
Our ground performance department are looking for TWO individual passionates about working in
the field of sports performance and sports medicine. This exciting opportunity will enable the
candidate to work as part of the performance department of one of the Swedish top league team
Mjällby AIF. The successful candidates will be a part and take charge of the strength and
conditioning practices across the academy in line with the clubs strategies regarding of strength and
conditioning & rehabilitering/return to play development plan.
You are reporting directly to the Head of performance of the club and will be working closely with
the team of 4 other sport scientists and physiotherapist.
THE INTERNSHIPS STARTS IN JANUARY 2025 (11 MONTH) AND WILL INCLUDE:
- Strength and conditioning coaching for U15-U19 academy players and/or the mens first team
players.
- Return to play, treatment and rehabilitation monitoring of U15-U19 academy players and mens
first team.
- Specific testing and analysis of physical capacities and workload monitoring.
- Education of Mjällby AIF:s club identity, philosophy and strategies.
- Free internal education opportunities during the season with the team of the performance
department.
- Free accommodation and 3 meals during the days of training.
THE CANDIDATE:
- On going or finished BSc Sport Science/Strength and Conditioning.
- On going or finished Strength and Conditioning qualification (NSCA or UKSCA).
- On going or finished Physiotherapist education.
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic.
- Proven experience of working well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong knowledge of Google Sheets, Microsoft excel, Numbers or Power BI.
- Fluent in English.
- Good team player, as well as ability to be proactive and work on own initiative.
- Passionated about working with elite football on a professional level.
