1. The Department
The Data and Insights team is growing and plays a pivotal part in shaping business strategy at Aston Villa. Central to our operation, you'll drive key decisions and strategic projects, leveraging data to fuel our growth ambitious.
The team, operating in the Strategy & Analytics department, is responsible for the management of all 1st party data, CRM integrations, syndicated media valuation and research tools, delivering reporting and insights to the Commercial operations at Aston Villa Football Club.
The team works at a fast pace providing support for commercial, brand and fan growth objectives across all areas of the Club. As the Club continues to progress in all areas, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of the journey.
2. The Role
If you have a passion for sport combined with working with data, building insights and supporting business growth, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Aston Villa Football Club as an Insight Analyst and become a key enabler of data and insight led decision making at the Club.
You will have a responsibility for delivering fan and commercial insight across the Commercial and Operational teams, focusing on the generation of performance insight and fan profiling across brand, transactional and behavioural data.
As part of a growing team, you will have exposure across Sponsorships, Matchday and Merchandise insight delivery and strategic development. You will initially have a primary focus of working with the Sponsorship Sales and Activation teams.
3. The Person
The ideal candidate will be intuitive and be motivated to act upon this; comfortable with setting and testing insight hypothesis, subsequently collecting appropriate data before interrogating and visualising it. You will be a self-starter who can take a pragmatic approach with any new initiatives. Good attention to detail is essential and taking responsibility for the accuracy of your own work. You will also be an effective problem solver, with strong commercial acumen.
Ideally you will have proven experience working in a relevant research/insight-based role with demonstrable experience of supporting strategic commercial projects/processes. You will be naturally inquisitive, with a passion for understanding fan behaviours and visualising/sharing such insight.
