The Resourcing Planning Analyst is responsible for key data development and analytics projects within the People Team at City Football Group. The primary project for this role will be to develop and maintain our resource reporting models to enable best in class analytics in relation to our resourcing, costs, and workforce planning.
This role will be the lead subject matter expert on a project team which will explore our resource modelling. Reporting into our People Manager – Data, Systems & Insights, there will be the freedom to develop and systemise a reporting model and explore how meaningful analytics can be designed and built to provide our leaders with extensive insights into their resourcing models. A key part of this role will also be to make hands-on changes to our people data to maintain its accuracy and integrity.
Alongside project work to rebuild our resource reporting, this role will also be responsible for the business as usual delivery of resource reporting, working with our People Business Partners to ensure our reports are accurate and meaningful to our leaders.
This role sits within the People Services team at City Football Group but has extensive cross-functional working with our Group Finance and Technology teams.

Manage and analyse data from our HR system (SAP SuccessFactors) to create datasets that allow us to track budgets and forecasts.
Work with our international clubs to incorporate their data into our forecasts
Collaborate closely with the wider People Team to review and ensure data accuracy for leader reports.
Monitor and track events through data which have an impact on our wages reporting.
Oversee and optimise our current reporting model to calculate total resourcing costs.
Review actuals spend against budget, liaise with the Finance team to obtain actuals numbers, and investigate any discrepancies.
Work within a project team to design and build a new resource tracking model which significantly enhances the accuracy and effectiveness of our reporting.
Develop and refine resourcing budget proposals until they receive executive leadership approval.
What we are looking for
Strong proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
The ability to translate complex analytical models and communicate them with simplicity both written and verbal to a range of stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within cross-functional work groups.
Experience in HR data management and budget forecasting.
Basic understanding of financial management tools used by Finance teams.
Previous experience in a similar HR budgeting role.
Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with SuccessFactors
A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in either data science, statistics, or analytics.
