Role description

Purpose: The HR Specialist provides support and coordination to day-to-day operations of human resources ensuring the efficient delivery of HR services, recruitment processes, and the accuracy of employee data records. This position is responsible for the daily payroll operations and will manage full time hiring, part-time hiring, benefits, open enrollment. This position is a key part of the HR team assists in many capacities to drive change and to support a positive workplace culture. Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities (in order of importance):Ensure biweekly payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Administer payroll for MLS NextPro players on a semi monthly including overtime, bonuses and retroactive payResolve any employee payment issues Process terminations in ADP and ABIProcess commissions and bonuses with the appropriate tax withholding amountsAdminister various employee benefits programsConduct benefit orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment systemMaintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claimsServe as main point of contact for benefit vendors. Manage benefit administration / benefit renewal process as well as Cobra and FMLA/OFLA paperworkManage monthly benefit statements and reconciliationConduct full-time and intern new hire orientationsConduct full-time exit interviewsAssist as needed with the disciplinary action processAssist as needed with trainings and tracking of trainingsProcess employment verifications and unemployment claimsPrepare reports for 401k and benefitsProcess and manage workers comp claims and paymentsManage day to day processes of the 401k planAct as an ADP Administrator for the company Secondary Responsibilities: Provide general support to the human resources department and finance department as neededSupport organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiativesProvide reception and logistics support as neededAssist with special projects as assignedOther duties as neededAct as cultural leader who pioneers productivity, morale and recognition effortsParticipate in or lead various employee committees Requirements:Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality Detail orientedAbility and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competency as required for the position of HR Specialist; including the functional areas of employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, organizational development, HRIS database, recruitment, employee health/ wellness and employment/ labor lawExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targetsExcellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Experience:Minimum 2 years experience in HR field or related fieldAssisting with payroll processing for minimum of 1 year ADP reporting or other HRIS system reporting experience for minimum of 1 year We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
