Role description

Stevenage FC Foundation have partnered with Herts Sports Partnership (HSP) to offer free activity camps to school-aged children, with an aim to tackle the inequalities of holiday hunger, social isolation, physical inactivity, and educational attainment experienced by children from low-income families during the school holidays as part of the Fit, Fed & Read (FFR) project.

We are actively recruiting sports coaches, teachers, arts & crafts, and people who have experience & enjoy working with children & young people. Each day of camps offers children sports and physical activity, enrichment (soft starts, themed arts and crafts, outdoor activities and games), and lunch.

Weekly rates of pay are dependent on role, including:

Camp Leader: £400 / Camp Assistant: £300 / Camp Activator: £180 – £252

Our camps run in the following locations:

Broxbourne – Waltham Cross
East Herts – Sele (Hertford)
North Herts – Jackmans (Letchworth)
Stevenage – Bedwell
Welwyn Hatfield – Peartree (Welwyn Garden City)

All staff are expected to have:

Hold an in date first aid qualification (taken within the last 3 years)
Hold a minimum Level 1 Safeguarding qualification (taken within the last 2 years)
Be willing to complete a full Enhanced DBS check
Ability to independently commute to and from venues
