Club History and Tradition
The New Saints FC is the most successful club in Welsh Domestic Football, winning the National Cymru Premier League more times than any other club, including consecutively for an eight-season period in 2017 and achieving the World Record of consecutive wins, whilst competing in UEFA Competitions every year for the past 21 years, creating a club structure to the envy of other Welsh Domestic Clubs.
The club aims to achieve similar success with the Women’s team, creating a winning mentality and a pathway to develop players for the future.
Club Vision
To continue to be the most successful club in Welsh Domestic Football and to be the first Welsh club to compete in the group stages of a UEFA Club Competition and sustaining this on regular basis, ensuring that all football industry stakeholders recognise that our Club and our National League in Wales is the powerhouse of talent and commands the respect and equality of other national leagues throughout Europe.
To continually improve performances in the Women’s Domestic game in Wales with the aim of competing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Club Culture and football philosophy
The New Saints FC will continue to implement game-changing systems and leadership in Welsh Domestic Football. Historically, the club has led the way - ‘The TNS way’ with a state-of-the-art 3G pitch, player fitness programmes, a clear academy player pathway, internal succession planning for its people, player performance analysis, unique sponsorship funding initiatives and thought leadership programs to ensure each player, coach, manager and staff member reaches their optimum potential. The club, by recruiting young talented players with potential and by developing coaches and players through the club’s investment in coach education and its player pathway respectively greatly assists the club in implementing our vision. The ultimate aim is to be successful on the UEFA stage by qualifying and progressing to the group stages of a UEFA Club Competition, whilst developing players of real value on the football transfer market or to fully utilise such players within our club in order to fulfil our vision and ambition.
The aim is to develop a structure to mirror the men’s teams, creating a player pathway for talented female players.
Job Title: Head of Women & Girls Football
Reporting to: The New Saints FC Board
Overall Purpose of Job:
• To lead the delivery of the Women and Girl’s football strategy, working across the organisation to drive forward the plan and its key pillars. The role will work across a number of priority areas including the Participation, Leadership & Workforce, Commercial and Visibility & Perception. The role will also involve leading and managing a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to achieving the successful delivery of the plan with the overall aim of growing and developing the club’s Women & Girls strategy
Main Responsibilities/Description of Duties:
• Lead the implementation of the strategic plan for Women & Girls football working with relevant staff, departments and stakeholders to ensure robust action plans and programmes are in place.
• Assist the senior Women’s team Manager and establish a support team of technical staff to assist with the delivery of the teams throughout the pathway.
• Work with the Head of Coaching to review and develop the delivery structure for Women & Girls football to ensure key objectives are met.
• Create a girls pathway to mirror the club’s football academy and scholarship
• Establish and manage an ongoing strategic review process which provides robust monitoring and evaluation of the objectives involving all key staff, departments and stakeholders.
• Lead and manage partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders such as local clubs, Area and County Associations and the FAW and FA with their involvement in the plan.
• Seek to increase the overall prominence of the Women & Girls game through engaging with key stakeholders to elevate its impact and visibility.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications team to keep designated web site pages current. Embrace the impact of digital marketing across all platforms to increase the awareness and engagement of specific initiatives
• Lead the budget process for the delivery of Girls’ & Women’s football, supporting each key area in creating annual budgets in line with achieving the key strategic outcomes.
• Continue to review and develop the delivery structure for Women & Girls football to maximise the delivery capability and ensure key objectives are met.
• Provide regular updates and reports on progress of the strategic plan to key staff and the board as and when required.
• Liaise with the Football Operations Manager to ensure the administration of the Girls’ and Women’s game dovetails with strategic focus.
• To establish strategies to support the recruitment of women into key roles at all levels of the game and to support succession planning.
• To have an understanding and awareness of Equality & Inclusion best practice relating to a sporting environment in order to increase female participation
• Any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time.
Knowledge required
• Proven experience of leading and executing strategic plans within football
• Proven experience of managing people and processes
• An awareness and understanding of the Equality Standard for Sport
• Experience of working in Women & Girls football and a strong knowledge of the football landscape in Wales and England
• Experience in successfully managing and reporting on budgets
• Experience of successfully delivering targets to implement change
• Experience of leading, planning and managing projects
• A proven track record of influencing internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and other requirements
• A valid full UK driver’s Licence
• Valid DBS certificate
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• UEFA A Licence
• Flexibility towards working hours and travelling.
