Head of Player CareWhat You DoIn this innovative role you are accountable for starting & building an organization focused on delivering exceptional opportunities & care for the Washington Spirit players off the pitch. You will start with a focus around Player Professional Development, Player Logistics & Player Partnerships (working closely with our Corporate Partnerships lead). You will lead the industry in securing the highest level of partners for our players, both from a professional development and partnership standpoint for the clubs’ players. You will work with universities, corporations, the league, and other teams to build this program for our team.  Who You Do It WithYou lead a team of player care professionals, you report to the President of Business Operations, you directly liaison with our President of Sporting, Head Coach, our Director of Player Marketing, our Sr. Director of Player Performance & Medical Innovation, and our VP of Revenue. Collaboration in this role is key. You work very closely with our players and are their biggest advocate in life.  How you Do ItYou work with a fierce drive to set the standard, with empathy for your team, with flexibility for the sporting calendar, and with the innate belief that this team will be successful and will grow. You come with new ideas often to create the standard for the industry. You are a networker—both with our own players and the surrounding community. You find ways to solve problems & create opportunities for our players quickly. You move without the need for significant guidance; you are a self-starter.   Key Skills Needed ·       Proven ability to deliver fresh new ideas, have a knack for knowing what a player needs before they do, and for using relationships to drive true excellence in execution. ·       Previous work experience with professional level athletes, preferably women ·       Ability to and interest in becoming a subject matter expert on the athletes of the Washington Spirit ·       Knowledge of the DMV area ·       Excellent leadership and coaching ability·       Excellent at building relationships both with professional athletes and also with corporate partners, local institutions·       Excellent ability to prioritize, organize & multi-task·       Can push self- & others in an ambiguous environment ·       Excellent business savviness ·       Models’ positive energy & handles stress well·       Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborates well with all  Job Requirements ·       At least 10 years of commensurate experience·       Experience leading high-performing teams·       Must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 ·       Available to work nights, weekends & holidays as needed·       This is a hybrid role between our Business Offices (Falls Church) and our Training Facility (Leesburg)We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
