Job title: Head of Physical Performance
Contractual status: Permanent
Hours of work: Full time: 40 hours per week which will include evenings and weekends to support the match day and training programme
Salary range: Competitive dependent on experience
Location: Gardyne Campus Training Centre
Reporting to: Dr Derek McCormack
Job Summary:
Driving High Standards within the Human Performance Department (HPD) to ensure a high-performance culture.
· In consultation with key personnel collaboratively develop the philosophy, policies and approach to daily work within the HPD, complementing the football philosophy.
· With the wider HPD highlight areas of innovation and development that enhance the practice of the HPD and promote daily improvement with all staff and players.
· Develop and continually review the vision of the HPD in line with the football philosophy in consultation with senior leadership and the leadership team.
· Develop and implement processes with the HPD in consultation with all staff, promoting collective MDT practice.
· Work with key personnel to develop injury prevention strategies within the club.
· Liaise with key personnel in relation to injured players.
· Liaise with key personnel with regards to the rehabilitation processes and delivery.
· Monitor all testing at the club to ensure it is complimentary and informs training approaches.
· Monitor workload and report to medical and technical staff.
CRITERIA
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
· Post graduate qualification within the disciplines of Sport Science or related field.
DESIRABLE
· UKSCA accreditation or willingness to work towards.
· BASES accreditation or willingness to work towards.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
ESSENTIAL
· Proven record of working with elite football players.
· Able to practice in the UK from a credential’s perspective.
· Full UK driving licence.
DESIRABLE
Previous experience of leading a performance team
Experience of aligning medical and science staff.
