An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Queen’s Park FC who are the oldest club in Scottish Football. Formed in 1867, the club is regarded as pioneers of the modern game. Now, some 156 years later, Queen’s Park Football Club are looking to establish themselves as a leading football club in Europe, with an innovative programme, methodology and culture.
Queen’s Park’s Academy is currently seeking a committed, knowledgeable, and motivated Academy Head Coach for the Children’s Programme. The position is part-time and will be based in the heart of Glasgow at Lochinch Sports Pavilion. Our focus is on developing creative and intelligent players who can master the ball and make decisions when playing at the highest tempo that is required to compete at the top European level.

Place within the organisation:
The Head Coach falls under the direct responsibility of the Head of Children’s Programme.
Areas of Accountability:
§  Planning and training assigned team and assisting other teams.
§  Choosing the starting team and coaching players in their development.
§  Holding pre and post-match sessions with players.
§  Implementing the Queen’s Park Coach Model within the Individual Development Plans.
§  Provides a football learning methodology, a physical stimulus and an elite-lifestyle approach for the team.
§  Plan team objectives within the football calendar and consider the development points of each individual player and the stage in which each player is in during their development in training.
§  Plan the optimal movement training for his players in collaboration with the Sport Scientist.
§  Be the ‘Point of Contact’ for all organisational matters related to his team.
§  Assess academy players based on the vision and playing style as determined by Queen’s Park.
§  Responsible for creating a performance culture, in which growth and development are central.
§  Lead support on pre academy activity as directed by the Head of Children’s Programme.
§  Ability to work irregular and unsociable hours as required, with evenings and weekends expected.
§  Understand that, on occasions, working hours may be subject to change.
§  Ability to travel abroad with teams if required.
Qualifications (Essential):
§  Advanced Children's Licence (ACL) or working towards this.
Knowledge Experiences:
§  Previous experience working in a similar role within elite sport.
§  Good IT skills with understanding of using word, PowerPoint, keynote excel.
