THE ROLE
We are recruiting for an important and exciting role as Head of Academy Scouting & Recruitment at Rangers Football Club. A member of the Academy Management Team (AMT) and Academy Football Board, the Head of Academy Scouting & Recruitment plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Academy. Responsibilities include talent identification, player development, recruitment strategy, data analysis, team leadership, Academy integration, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Specifically, the Head of Academy Scouting & Recruitment is responsible for discovering the best football talent in Scotland and identifying high-potential players who can excel in our Academy. The successful candidate will manage streamlined scouting and recruitment processes, employing a data-driven approach for player evaluation. Beyond these technical aspects, the successful candidate will contribute to fostering a positive and exciting Academy culture. Passion for the sport, networking skills, and strategic thinking will have a profound and lasting impact on the future of football in our Academy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Management
Member of the Academy Management Team
Member of the Academy Football board
Responsibility for all Academy scouts
Work closely with Head of Academy Football
Contribute to our positive, dynamic, and high energy culture
Staff development through the organisation of CPD programme
Scouting & Recruitment
Discovering the best football talent in and around Scotland
Identifying high-potential players who can excel and grow in our Academy
Managing streamlined scouting and recruitment processes
Utilising a data-driven approach for player evaluation
Fostering a positive and exciting Academy culture
Ensuring ethical compliance in all scouting and recruitment activities
Leading and guiding the scouting and recruitment team
Integrating scouted players seamlessly into the Academy system
Maintaining detailed records and providing regular reports
Continuously improving and optimising the scouting and recruitment processes
THE CANDIDATE
Education:
Talent ID Level 1
Talent ID Level 2
Talent ID level 3 (desirable)
Other courses would be advantageous as are coaching badges
A dynamic, creative thinker who has a positive energy
Driven, highly motivated, with a passion for with scouting
Highly organised and professional in their manner and appearance
High levels of emotional intelligence will be required in order stimulate and engage others, while also being able to make the right decisions in the right moments
Rangers Academy is a very fast paced and exciting environment. The individual should love and have a skill set able to cope with a highly driven, dynamic environment where continued change is guaranteed
A love of football and a passion for seeing young people develop and improve is a must for this role
Eligibility to work in the UK
A PVG check through Disclosure Scotland is a requirement of this role.
