Role description

Hull City are looking for an engaging and proactive individual to join us in the role of Head of Academy Physical Performance (PDP), supporting team of talented individuals at Hull City Academy.
Reporting to the Academy Manager and Head of Medical Services & Performance, the successful applicant will lead and develop the physical performance provision for all under 18 to under 21.

Location: Hull City Academy, Bishop Burton College
Salary: 30,000 to 35,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Your key responsibilities

Lead and develop the practical design and delivery of conditioning sessions to Professional Development Phase (PDP) players
Work collaboratively the First Team to ensure on-going alignment with physical preparation of players
Collect and monitor on all data obtained from physical performance and training load stats for use in training and rehabilitation sessions, reporting objective training load data to Academy key stakeholders
Effectively lead and manage a physical performance department within the Professional Development Phase, focusing on the club Sport Science philosophy and EPPP requirements
Actively participate, coordinate, and supervise physical performance staff in the practical delivery of conditioning sessions to Academy players across all phases within the academy, aiming at eliciting individual optimal physical performance
Collaborate and engage with other members of the medical and science department and MDT, actively contributing to the player review process


What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will hold relevant BA (Hons) and MSc Degree in Sports Science or a related discipline (Essential)
Minimum 3 years experience within a multi-disciplinary team in a sports medicine environment, preferably with young athletes (Essential)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, develop and encourage staff and players to gain best results and performance
Previous management or supervision experience
The safeguarding and welfare of our players is paramount and as such this position is subject to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
