About The Role






We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our team at FGR. This is anexciting opportunity to join FGR where sustainability is at the core. The club is also known forbeing the only 100% vegan football club in the world, as well as being the first!
We are alwayslooking at new ways to push boundaries of environmental consciousness in sport, whether it bevia transport, food or supporting nature which are key pillars for FGR.
As the Head Chef you will be responsible for managing the kitchen and related operations,ensuring the smooth running of the business, and working alongside the existing team to deliverexceptional vegan culinary experiences to our fans.
Your responsibilities will include menu planning and development, managing inventory andordering, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, and food hygiene, as wellas leading and motivating the kitchen team to ensure exceptional food quality and customerservice.
Main Tasks

Head up and run the kitchen to ensure that supporters receive a healthy, cost-effective, high-quality vegan food offering on Match Days and events throughout the week
All food cooked in-house, if food outsourced this will require approval from COO
Plan exciting and innovative vegan menus in consultation using plant based, organic and locally sourced ingredients
Produce high standard food from the on-site kitchen and catering outlets, either by cooking, or managing the kitchen to deliver
Work closely with the Stadium team to make sure that events and match days are well planned, catering and kitchen teams are in place when needed
Ensure stock is controlled and ordered on time, ensuring match menus can be fulfilled
Present the Club’s food agenda to the external world through taking part in events and media opportunities which the football world, and in association with our partners, offer us
Keep appropriate financial and administrative records and manage the performance and training of the other kitchen team members
Keep abreast of trends and developments in our industry, such as menus or trends in consumer tastes
Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed and ensure compliance with all fire, licensing, employment, and food safety regulations in the kitchen
Maintenance of equipment
Applying for the Vegan Trademark Certification each year
Annual review of suppliers, checking their sustainability credentials as well as prices
Creation of recipes that can be shared on social media, with a long-term plan to create Forest Green Rovers FC cookbook.







About You






Experience/Skills Required

Enthusiastic, with a passion and flair for innovative vegan cooking
Experience of running a commercial kitchen with large catering demands
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment
The ability to think on your feet, react quickly and take initiative
Tact and diplomacy
The ability to lead and motivate a team
An appreciation of customer expectations and commercial demands
Stamina and the ability to work under pressure
A well-organised approach to work
Flexibility and the ability to solve problems in a pressurised environment
Experience and desire to improve service delivery
Drive and determination to improve standards and profitability.
