Description

The Scottish FA is looking for a Women's and Girls' U17 Head Coach to perform and co-ordinate the implementation and delivery of the Girls'/Women's National Teams and Development Programmes within our International Performance Youth Pathway. The job holder will also support the development of regional and national structures for talented players in Scotland.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate proven experience of youth player development and coaching at an elite level, ideally backed by playing experience in the senior women's game at international level.A UEFA 'A' &/or Elite Youth A Licence holder, the ideal candidate is passionate about contributing to the development of the Girls' and Women's Game in Scotland, possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is an engaging leader, inspiring trust and motivating people.

The role could be based in either Hampden or Oriam, depending on the job holder's preference. The Scottish FA also operates a hybrid working policy, so flexibility is both required and afforded.

Key Responsibilities

In conjunction with the G&WPM support the talent identification, plan the training and competition programme for our WU17's Women's National Team. To ensure effective delivery, monitor and evaluate the programme in line with our SWNT Way of Working and Way of Playing.
Provide feedback and data, where required, to clubs with players involved in the WU17 National Team and wider performance programmes.
To ensure ongoing communication with clubs regarding national team and performance programmes to guarantee that the best services are provided and delivered to players who are central to the performance pathway.
Together with the G&WPM and SWNT Youth Performance Staff, support the Youth National Team Pathway and wider performance programmes.
In conjunction with the G&WPM and Regional Partnership Managers, support the delivery of the player pathway for performance players through the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of all performance pathway activity within selected Scottish FA Football Regions.
Support the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of a programme of education and development for coaches working within the performance pathway.
In keeping with the G&WPM, support the co-ordination and delivery of our Elite Talent Development Environments (Academy System Competitions & Clubs) as well as ongoing club support to assigned clubs which will include player, coach & club development as well as Club Criteria Auditing.
To support, where required and directed by the G&WPM, our geographically based Performance Hubs to facilitate the performance requirements for all National Youth Team players. In Conjunction with the G&WPM, link and liaise with the Regional Performance Schools Manager and coaches to ensure the best players are identified and introduced to the programme.
Support the planning, organisation, and delivery of the annual National Talent ID Camp for players involved, up to and including U17s, in conjunction with the G&WPM.
Submit comprehensive reports post-match/tournament in line with Performance Department policy and our SWNT Way of Working
Support and co-ordinate in conjunction with the G&WPM, the National and Regional player scouting network to ensure competent and talented athletes are identified and developed in line with the player performance pathway blueprint, thereby enabling female footballers to realise their potential.
In line with the G&WPM, identify, mentor, and develop, as well as support & deliver coach education to clubs and coaches working in the Girls'/Women's game.
Attend, as appropriate, Scottish FA, UEFA and FIFA in service/workshops and study programmes to be aware of the latest and best practice with the on-going technical development and education of talented young female players. To work with key partners and internal colleagues to deliver the above programmes and to maintain and foster good working relationships with all service providers.
Undertake any other duties which may arise from time to time as determined by the G&WPM for Girls' and Women's Football.
