Role description

To lead the strategic development of female talent in Scotland, ensuring a range of programmes and pathways are in place for girls’ and women football to enable talent to be identified, developed through high performance programmes, and transitioned to the Women National Team to enable them to perform at the highest level.

Main Duties
Lead the development of a Performance Plan for girls’ and women football working with a range of stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and connected approach is taken to maximise resource and opportunity.
Lead and manage the relevant Performance Coaching staff ensuring robust action plans are in place to deliver on the overall performance plan.
Lead and manage the Youth National Teams programme with a view to continuous review and improvement.
Promote a culture of high performance and excellence in all aspects of the player development process, ensuring Scotland is at the forefront of best practice.
Work closely with the Women National Team Head Coach, Youth National Team Coaches and Performance Analysis to implement and monitor the game model and style of play across the various National Teams, across all performance activity and through the range of player development programmes in place.
Work closely with the High-Performance Unit to ensure a range of high-quality multidisciplinary teams are in place to support the various Youth National Teams.
Work closely with clubs and leagues to establish best practice which ensures player development programmes across the game are of high quality and promote a culture of excellence in all areas.
Work closely with FIFA, UEFA, sportscotland, the SWPL and SWF and other key stakeholders to maximise the performance programmes for girls’ and women in Scotland and act as a point of contact for all performance aspects of the game.
Lead the review of existing performance programmes, refining and improving where necessary and establishing new bespoke development programmes which are required.
Support and promote best practice in relation to talent identification systems to ensure talent is identified within Scotland and abroad.
Work closely with the Coach Education and Development Unit to establish a high performance and elite coach development support programme for the female game ensuring knowledge exchange, sharing of best practice and insights are maximised.
Establish and manage an ongoing strategic review processes which provides robust monitoring and evaluation of the objectives involving all key staff, departments, and stakeholders.
Lead the budget process for the delivery of performance programmes, supporting each key area in creating annual budgets in line with achieving the key strategic outcomes.
Continue to review and develop the delivery structure for performance programmes and pathways for the female game in Scotland.
Provide regular updates and reports on progress of the performance plan to key staff and Scottish FA boards as and when required.
Ensure Scotland, in relation to elite player development methodology across the female game, is at the forefront of best practice.
Any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time.

Essential Requirements
Proven experience of leading and executing strategic plans within sport
Proven experience of managing people and processes
Experience of working at a performance level preferably within the female game with a track record at club or international level of developing talent
Experience in successfully managing and reporting on budgets
Experience of successfully delivering targets to implement change
Experience of leading, planning and managing projects
A proven track record in multi-agency working and influencing internal and external stakeholders
