Role description

Racing Louisville FC is the 2021 NWSL expansion club run by Soccer Holdings, LLC, the same organization behind Louisville City FC, the two-time USL Championship-winning men's side. Both Racing and LouCity play home games at Lynn Family Stadium and operate out of the Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center. Racing Louisville FC's roster contains both World Cup winners and national team-caliber players and set a new NWSL record for an expansion club — including a victory in The Women's Cup, an inaugural tournament held in August 2021 at Lynn Family Stadium. Louisville ranked second in league attendance in 2021 with an average of 6,585 fans per game. Racing Louisville FC is seeking a General Manager to manage all aspects of day-to-day team operations, recruitment, compliance, and performance. The General Manager will be a fundamental member of the Racing Louisville FC staff, working strategically with coaching staff, players, and the Club’s front office.  This role will be responsible for creating and implementing long-term strategies for ongoing success, while providing support and insight for current players and staff.  Key Areas of Responsibility and Competencies:Operations: -        Management of Racing Louisville FC’s day-to-day football operations and development; communicates effectively across various departments to efficiently support the Racing players & staff. -        Serves as a liaison between team staff and front office on all player & team-related matters; looks for ways to enhance internal processes for collaboration and communication between the Racing Louisville coaches, players, and front office. -        Establish clear goals and delivery of appropriate feedback to maximize team performance. -        Regular and ongoing communication with Club stakeholders regarding development, strategy, and best practices; continuously looks for opportunities to approach and address challenges. -        Direct responsibility and oversight for Racing Louisville FC budget and expenditures.  Recruitment: -        Direct oversight of player recruitment and acquisitions, communicates with agents and outside contacts regarding contract negotiations. -        Regularly collaborates with coaching staff on recommendations for recruitment. Travel as needed for player scouting, identification, and recruitment.-        Develops long-term strategies for succession planning and team development.  Compliance: -        Manages outgoing and incoming player loans in compliance with the NWSL. -        Serves as the primary point of contact with the NWSL regarding league regulations regarding player safety, reporting, protocols, and compliance. -        Foster a collaborative working relationship with the NWSL Players Association and Racing Louisville FC representatives. Performance: -        Develop and implement a player evaluation process that includes written assessments, feedback to players and staff, and recommendations for team & individual development. -        Consistently looks for ways to improve strategies, processes, and procedures to increase player care and maximize resources. Ensures safety standards and best practices are followed at all times. -        Fosters a positive team environment aligned with the Club’s vision, mission, and core values.  QUALIFICATIONS:-        Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. -        Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience working with athletes, coaches, and technical staff. -        Advanced knowledge and experience managing multiple functions within a professional sports organization.  Experience working with collegiate or professional athletes preferred. -        Thorough knowledge of the professional soccer environment and technical components, including US and international soccer markets. -        Experience managing player recruitment and scouting. -        Knowledge of economic, financial, and industry data necessary to utilize Club resources.-        Experience handling and analyzing performance data; preferably as it pertains to female athletes. -        Must be able to make tough decisions; takes responsibility for communicating feedback clearly and effectively.  -        Ability to work outside normal business hours, including evening and weekends. -        Presents and maintains a positive & professional image.   -        Self-motivated with solid organizational and planning skills.  -        Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential information. -        Proficient in working with Microsoft office suite. -        Successful completion of pre-employment comprehensive background check.-        Must be legally authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the US.   The information contained in this job description is not exhaustive of all the duties and responsibilities, nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.  At the discretion of management, duties and responsibilities may change due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons at any time.  Soccer Holdings, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, class, religion, country of origin, political belief, disability, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or any factor protected by law.
